They both ran for over 100 yards against us in the games they beat us. Both of those teams use the running game as their foundation on offense. Dallas wants to improve their run defense and interior physicality to help counter what those teams want to do.

Getting through the NFC playoffs will require you to shut down teams running games. It’s not that hard to understand why they brought Mazi in.
Volume yards doesn't matter. Neither offense was particularly effective running the ball and neither could score.

Just tell me what you think the expectation is. I don't care about the ideology of it. I mean do you think that, instead of 3.6 ypc the 49ers are going to run for 3.3 and that's going to make some type of demonstrable difference? It's a lot of hooplah for no effective gameday difference.

They drafted him because they either are stupid or think his power means he can rush the passer.

You think there's no difference between 3.6 and 3.3 in a playoff game where everybyard counts yet question others intelligence. Cowboy fans are dumb

Lol there absolutely isn't. Either way, it comes down to converting on third down, and you do that with the passing game.

3rd and 3 vs. 3rd and 4 doesn't matter.

Go ahead and tell me what the tangible difference is. Please. Englighten me. Save the "if you don't already know I can't help you" garbage.

We were getting destroyed in the run game and against San Fran we need to make them beat us through the air.

Hankins has popped more than Mazi, but Hankins is older and the last thing we want to do is hang our defense on the shoulders of one older player. We don't want our defense to get shredded if Hankins goes out. Mazi wasn't a 'sexy pick' and he has leapt off screen like Jalen Carter, but if he can help keep the run defense looking how it's been looking, which is limiting teams like the Jets and Giants to extremely low yards, then I'm all for the pick.

Prove it. Show something tangible.

You telling me is meaningless.
You can't prove that if san fran had .3 less ypc that we still would've lost. So again, why continue? After we beat the niners this year you'll still think you were right so WHY CONTINUE?

Yes I can lol. 49ers rush EPA in the playoff game was -.097, 2nd worst in the divisional round. It would not have gone down to -7.1 with a .3 ypc difference. Easy. They ran the ball poorly and running slightly more poorly would have no impact on the outcome of the game.

If Dallas beats the 9ers it won't be because the 9ers run game was less effective. It's hard to be much less effective than it was last year. The difference will be decided, as every game, but how well Dallas throws the ball.

They drafted him because DT has been a talent starved position on the roster for years. Obviously they expect him to help give our defense another dimension.

We were a bottom 10 team in stopping the run last year, and it’s been the weakness for what was otherwise a complete defense. The big guys up front help make everything work better. I don’t understand what your argument is.

Your "proof" wasn't evidence that we still lose the game. It's still an opinion. You do know that, right? You found an analytics website and think you found a treasure chest lol
You have no proof.

The math is the math.
