It's only been a couple of preseason games, but I remember everyone here was fairly underwhelmed with Micah Parsons during his first preseason.

Some even said he looked lost on the field.

Now I know he was moved to DE after week 1 because of Lawrence's injury and basically played a new position, but my point is rookies need time to adjust and learn in the NFL.

Hankins will be our true run stopper this year and as the season progresses I expect Mazi to get a little better with each week.

Give a the rookie a full season before jumping on his head…. Fans don’t think about it but I’m sure the amount of pressure put on these player has effects on the field and with their confidence. Just chill and give them time.

Game 2 was bad, but he held up well at the point of attack game 1

I think people are expecting Daron Payne

Sounds about right!

Micah did not underwhelm during his first preseason.

He flashed early unlike Mazi Bohanna

Worth Repeatin'

- I knew with some fans there was gonna be a totally knee jerk reaction with Mazi.

- Some folks not gonna understand that his development is not gonna be an overnight success, and they will 'demand' that Mazzi be
All pro the minute he steps onto the playing field.

- If he shows some struggles, they are gonna totally jump all over his back like a gang of mosquitoes...

- His slow get off something he has had for years at Michigan, so it's gonna take a bit of time to develop new techniques and habit.
His shed and leverage techniques and awareness are subpar at this very early stage,
- Mazzi simply has to learn those techniques and learn the NFL nuisances of trench wars ..that takes time .

But we're gonna have disgruntled knee jerk reaction fans that refuse to accept development time.

We live in a society that wants an immediate hot pocket and grape soda.

PS as depth maybe. I honestly dont see him getting poached
I'm guessing 5 DTs

Hankins
Mazzi
Osa
Gholston
Jr. Fehoko (will be inactive in '23)

i could see both Gallimore and Bohanna on practice squad if not claimed off waivers

But even Daron Payne had " pain" issues (pun intended) his rookie year when he first entered the NFL preseason.

My thoughts on Mazi.
Man, I told this board when we made the pick that he'd disappoint. Sucks to be right sometimes BUT....the real games haven't begun. Maybe he's just thinking too much right now. It's been known to happen to rookies. Like another poster said, let's give him some time.

Exactly, way too soon to judge. Mazi will spell Hankins early on, but suspect he will earn more time as the season moves on.

Ummm..............yah right. Parsons shot out of the cannon. Anyone who said different is a moron.

Way too early to pass judgement. let him play some reg ball (17 games) and then I’ll tell you my opinion.

I'll take it back even further. I remember people criticizing the ware pick. I don't even think he had a sack till like week 4-5 his rookie year. Then everyone complained we shoulda taken merriman over him for 2 years. Cause merriman had better overall stats through years 1-2.

Nobody knows how these guys will be, nobody. You can't base assumptions based on 2 pre season games. Its ridiculous.

They use first round picks as if they are the solution to gaping holes in the starting lineup.

They’ve gotten away with it lately but eventually it’s going to bite them.

That all said I have no idea how anyone could conclude anything about anyone after two glorified walkthroughs.

If youre thinking he may be Aaron Donald immediately I suggest adjusting your expectations.
