The young man was paid handsomely this past off season to be that 2nd guy. We all know he came off an injury, and was maybe rushed back too soon due to our lack of adding talent. With that said, he's got a handsome cap number this upcoming season. Do we let him play at that number, do we ask him to take a pay cut, add more years to his deal or what??? Is he a guy that can actually be that 2nd WR for us? I think this off season is big for him, seeing and having more confidence coming off that injury in how he'll progress. Please give your thoughts!

Inured his knee in week 17 last year. So it's just barely been a year. Clearly he didn't look like the same player. Explosiveness and speed were missing from his game. So these next months will help him get back to what he was and we will see a better version of Gallup next fall.

I know they weren't all, but it sure seemed like a lot of the catches he had to make were thrown to the point he was jumping and catching them at arms length above him (showing solid hands). If we have an OC that comes in and uses him correctly, he is definitely a WR2 in my book.

It happens every time. Player comes off a late season major injury, plays the following year but is really not mentally ready and doesn't do as well. Gets cut/traded in the off-season, leads the league with new team 2 years after major injury. Fans cry, "why couldn't he do that for us?"

I think Gallup - even when healthy - is more of a 3rd receiver, similar to Tyler Boyd on the Bengals. There top two receivers of course are Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins. We need to pair another receiver with this group. What's disappointing is that we seem to have missed in the draft with guys like Tolbert and Fehoko.

Another miscalculation by Cowboy management. Throwing big bucks after a player and not knowing his physical condition. They were hoping for the best health wise with Gallup and did NOT get it. I doubt they get their money's worth next season either.

What to do about the contract? Extension? Restructure? Pay Cut? Cut the Player and move on? All of that is Jones and Son's headache. They created the monster when they rushed to sign the player. Let them deal with the mess. Let them "boil in their own oil."

I'm not sure Gallup is a pay cut candidate, if I am reading things correctly. He is still due $19 million, $11 million is guaranteed next season. If Dallas cuts him he would be owed $19 million which is way more than he would get on the open market for one season, in my opinion. Gallup has no reason to take a pay cut. He can be effectively cut after next season if they want to keep his guaranteed amount at $11 million next season but I suspect with virtually nothing guaranteed after 2023, they restructure him to push some of that money out.

I think he was rushed back a bit, but even with that I don't think he's really a great WR2. He just doesn't have the type of speed you want from your #2 WR playing the Y. I'd like to for us to take a page from McVay's book and rotate WRs more from the slot. Lamb plays out of the slot quite a bit, but would like to see Gallup play some slot also. He's strong at the point of attack and could give fits for a slot CB to cover.

He does that well but we need him to do more
