Maybe, just maybe.....Gallup needed more time to recover from injury. This is the year we should see a better WR named Gallup, including crisper routes (new OC etc). If not, nothing else to say but do what good teams do.

Dude should play better next season. He had some really nice snags late in the season.
We need to hope he will. Our draft should indicate which direction we go with some of these guys who underperformed.

The young man was paid handsomely this past off season to be that 2nd guy. We all know he came off an injury, and was maybe rushed back too soon due to our lack of adding talent. With that said, he's got a handsome cap number this upcoming season. Do we let him play at that number, do we ask him to take a pay cut, add more years to his deal or what??? Is he a guy that can actually be that 2nd WR for us? I think this off season is big for him, seeing and having more confidence coming off that injury in how he'll progress. Please give your thoughts!
If he can be had for a one yr deal then JJ should resign him. Yes, he has not been the same player since his knee injury, but players coming this type of injury are hesitant to go full bore because they don't have faith that the knee will hold up under extreme circumstances and playing in the NFL is not a cake walk. Gallop should be ready to rock and roll when the 2023 season starts and knowing that he's once again playing for a huge contract we should be getting the old Gallop back!

Gallup will be better in 2023 but he had a lot of good tough catches in 2022 showing who he really is. He just needs the time to recover fully. His CAP is not that high but he can be restructured a little to save a few bucks without really impact what they do with him in the future.

The thing is, he was never the number 2 and honestly believe his best roll is the no 3 guy, Noah Brown should of only been on the field due to injures.

He'll be fine, we just need a QB that can look past his first read.

He was I believe the bottom 3 in terms of separation in the league during the regular season, he shouldn't of been on the field. Separating is more important than catching the ball. It takes the first to get to the second.

His contract was specifically written to be restructured for this coming season. Nothing about this season changes that. Anyone who has had a significant leg injury realizes the muscle mass lost is significant. I doubt he was able to get the muscle at more than 80% of what it was prior. He relies on being able to plant, cut and precise routes. An off-season in the weight room and he’ll be back to normal!

I guess you forgot he came back less than a year after major knee surgery. Was definitely not 100%

I gave him this season. Next season he's a year removed and on the hook.

It seems to take a good year and a half to fully recover from his type of injury.

Take a good look at Michael Irvin's early career. He came back in midseason after missing a full year but he didn't look right. However, the following year was his breakout season.

Yes and so was Noah Brown. CD wasn't ranked among the best at separation either. Add it all up, and if you believe in the talent, you absolutely need a scheme change. My guess is a combination of the two.

I think Gallup is a player and keeper for now. Brutal sport at 100%, just imagine at 75 or just slightly more, both physically and mentally.

Don't think he's the type of take the money and run kind of guy, unlike some who got fat, lazy and uninterested in competing.

He ain't going no where, Jerry's favorite type of player.

I have zero misgivings about Gallup as a solid #2 receiver in our offense. I also had zero expectations that he would be anywhere near his normal self THIS season. When healthy he is about as good a #2 as you could ask for. Time will tell if he makes it all the way back come September but I'm prepared to wait and see. That said, it would not bother me to see the Cowboys draft some insurance just in case the knee has a setback. There will be quality receivers in every round of the draft. Take one and develop him while hoping too that Houston and Tolbert grow into NFL Players too. Maybe even Fehoko can finally figure some things out.
