Either a defensive tackle or running back with a pulse made sense.

But no, this front office is literally grabbing national headlines as one of the biggest jokes in football.
Jerry & son were a punchline before but, now?

It's like each football decision made outdoes a previous stupid decision.
Literally, you cannot make this **** up.
Ahhh come on!! I sift through all these posts to make sure I wasn’t repeating someone and you got me by three minutes!! Damn LOL.

Yeah this was about Jerry grabbing a headline. As far as the OP, I’d rather have the new coach and/or OC choose the type of players they would like but that was probably never gonna happen in Dallas anyway.

Now one of the 4-5 questions actually asked in the HC interviews will be…”how can you use Mingo to make me look as if I am a football man.” Best answer gets the HC job for the next five years, even if they truly ought to be fired after three.

This isn't a now move, but more towards the future. Mingo is very raw, but does possess elite athletic traits. He could potentially become that X receiver we lack. By trading for him, doesn't exclude the team from drafting another high receiver this year. Probably overpaid a little, but they are banking on his upside. I really liked him in the draft 2 years ago, has some Dez Bryant qualities, but he is more in the Jalen Tolbert level right now and won't make a big, immediate impact.
That is just it. A fourth round pick is too high for a player that was in the doghouse for the worst team in the NFL. It’s sad that most teams make minor trades for better players and Jerry gets taken for a 4th round pick that we fans will be wishing we had when a running back or cornerback is available in next year’s draft in the 4th round.. Like Lance there will be undo pressure on this kid to perform. I am waiting for the Dez or Deebo comparisons from Jerry during his next radio show. Jerry is doing anything he can to keep the Cowboys relevant and when the Giants get their franchise quarterback the Cowboys will be the worst team in the NFC East. Just embarrassing……

When I read the report I thought it was a misprint. A 4th round pick? For a team that supposedly builds only through the draft they sure don't value their draft picks highly do they?
2 1/2 seasons left on contract and has had over a year development. 6’2 220 4.46. Even if they just use him in a Deebo esq manner screens, wheel routes out of the backfield and quasi RB with Lamb on the outside drawing constant double teams he has more upside potential busting up some of the zone coverages than any 4th round receiver coming out.

A waste. He doesn’t propel the team to the playoffs.

I think we're at a point to just accept the inevitable. Our preseason started on the Saints blowout. We already gave away the next 3 years in cap spend.. why make it worse? Too many bad moves, too many injuries.. at least when we get everybody back to 100% next year, we'd have some early picks to compliment it. GMs ego is getting in the way and sacrificing too much

Jerry got a 5th round pick for AMARI COOPER then gives up a 4th for this bum. You can't make this crap up.

All the people complaining about Jerry not making any trades are to blame for this trade. Jerry always gives up too much or receives too little, every time.

What's incredible is that any fan of the NFL would know a 4th is way too much for Mingo. So how come the Joneses don't.
Also if they are making mistakes like this, what else are they getting wrong? Are we grading players wrong at the Draft as well?

There are already two threads with an abundance of replies showing how the vast majority feel about Jerry's last maneuver/blunder as GM
True, but i choose to release this pearl in this particular thread....."The most lucrative organization in all sports has officially gone full "Dollar Store".

Seriously guys and gals....anyone who can still devote valuable time to this organization at this point, really needs to seek medical help. EVERY move this jackass makes just adds months and years to ANY chance of future relevancy.

Yep
i gotta admit. It does make me further question what McClay is doing In these personnel decisions or is this another Jerry being Jerry Lance type deal.

I hope it's "just" Jerry being Jerry again this time cuz if not we got some major personnel evaluation problems trending in the direction of Mazi and Schoonmaker again.

I mean, I hope McClay hasn't literally lost his mind as well by being around the Joneses for too long.
Product of his environment and all.

Cuz my gosh, this is just terrible.

Agree.....For the last 3 years I only post while sitting on the commode, thus not burning valuable time nor resources

Jerry wants the youngest team in the NFL.
He is giving what he fans on here want. Never give out big contracts. Well he did to a player that did not deserve one. What around 40% of the cap.
Therefore the need to pay young players on cheap contracts. Save it all for one player. That disappears in the playoffs.
