Try living here right in the middle of it. Between Mahomes and Kelce it's miserable.
I don't know what it is, but I can't freaking stand Mahomes. First, he sounds like Kermit the frog, and the way his helmet looks like it it's barely sitting on his head annoys me. I hope they never win another SB.

Living here in NY, Giant fans are already chirping about being a legitimate contender, where the Jet fans think they are headed to the Super Bowl.

Giant Offense

-This unit is vastly improved from a talent perspective. Waller is their biggest get from the offseason. In the preseason, although in limited snaps, it appears Daniel Jones has a new go to guy in Waller. He is legitimately a nightmare matchup.
-OL is improved, but still in transition. Schmitz, their new center was a favorite of many including me during draft season. He is a huge upgrade. Andrew Thomas is an elite Tackle, but after those two, especially the Guards, they are still very average. Interior pressure would be the area to attack.
-Barkley remains the #1 priority as he has the ability to wreck the game.
-WR's are far improved last time we faced the Giants. Hodkins is a big target and they have crazy, long speed everywhere else: Slayton, Campbell, Hyatt.
-Daniel Jones is one of the better running QB's in this league, he has the ability to pick up first downs with his legs. Force him to beat us using his arm.

Giant Defense

-They spent a lot of resources trying to fix their run defense. A'Shaun Robinson joins Dexter Lawrence and Leonard Williams to form an excellent DL front. They added Okereke to fortify their run defense.
-They have a very good young pass rusher in Thibodeau who gave Tyler Smith fits in their last meeting. Ojulari, when healthy has been very productive. Just added I. Simmons and Boogie Basham. Their DC loves to blitz, so Dak must be good with his pre-snap reads.
-Outside of Adoree Jackson, this unit will struggle against the pass. Banks is a green rookie who should be targeted early on often.

Giants Special Teams

-They have one of the better kickers in this league with Gano.
-Giants struggled with their punt return last season.
I think the Giants are better than the Eagles and vastly improved from last year.

We are still better but they closed the gap.

Eagles have taken a step back, imo. Also have a tougher schedule.

I have legitimately never heard of any of the giants defensivebacks? Are they really going into the season with a bunch of jags at corner and saftey?

They are starting a 6th round corner and a dude waived from the Jets at saftey? L M A O if we don't expose these guys I will have legitimate concerns about our season.

Yeah I expect Dak will throw 40 plus passes. There is a reason why the Giants signed Houston to their practice squad. They have no idea how we are going to attack them offensively.

They think they have the best coaching staff and the best players now and they literally think they're the best in the NFC East I mean I guess that's OK but that is what Rayman is talking about because I'm seeing it all over Facebook as well these guys think they're winning the NFC East this year goaing away.

4 sure, game one playing a NFC East opponent at their home when they've been stomped for the last eight years by us, I believe they're like what nine and one the last decade against us? I mean they want to beat us way way more than we probably want to beat them. I'm sending you a couple of Black Cats up there now...
I think they were 1-1 against us in 2020 with Andy Dalton starting. From there you have to go back to 2016 when they beat us twice. Again, Dak was technically the backup. They went 1-1 against us in 2015, again beating a backup QB. Hell, I don't remember the last time the Giants beat us when we had our starting QB.

I expect a Dallas win and Trevon Diggs to post a tuddy. I think the Giants will play from behind and at some point, Daniel Jones will be, well… Daniel Jones.

No, Cowboy is right. I live 5 minutes from the Meadowlands and the fanbase is sky high. They believe this is a double digit win team that’s going to make a statement this year.

Week 1 versus Dallas is the launching point. This game is extremely crucial for them.

I personally believe NY is an 8 to 9 win team this year based off the schedule. Make the playoffs as WC again.
Are you talking about younger fans Perhaps? From Everyone I talk to (and pretty much everyone I talk to is a giant or jet fan) their expectations are lower than the what I read on here on average. But I guess that’s my personal experience. Can’t speak for everyone

Just a few days ago I was listening to the NY sports talk radio station for about an hour at work during the overnight shift. The host believes they're winning the division. He was serious. There weren't a lot of people calling in disagreeing. That's just one opinion. I didn't hear what the others had to say. But they're out there.

I think this is a tough opener for Dallas against an NFC East opponent playing at home.
While both teams must obviously play well to win I am concerned about Dak not getting any live game reps during preseason with a new offense and skill players in-place. I also worry about Dallas’ run defense and being able to defend against Barkley; and the TE Waller, who can stretch the middle of the field.
Given Wink Martindale is an aggressive DC and will surely bring pressure, Dallas’ o-line play must be on-point and able to run the ball. Both offenses have improved at least on paper, so I’m thinking that this will be a defensive ballgame.
At any rate, a good measuring stick for the Cowboys right out of the gate.

what are you a giants fan I understand what you're saying but we've also improved last year too our game one roster it's light years ahead of where it was last year.. I'm not gonna go through every position just like you did they may have improved but in my opinion we have as well.. Including change a lot of our offense philosophy running back by committee fresher legs better wide receiver core I just think we're a better team this year then last year maybe it won't show in the record I just think the roster is better and it's deeper... NFC East is always gonna be a fight so you can't let your guard down and we're playing on the road so there is a chance we lose that game mean you're on the road and they're hungry for a win because I think we're nine and one in the last 10 games against them
Please use commas and periods.

Live in NJ, until today worked in NYC...

He's right. The fans have their chest puffed up and are talking BS. "Danny dimes this..." and "Sequon that". They have Dexter Lawrence. We lost Zeke. Dak throws INTs.

Ironically, they have grudging respect for Dak, but they also are the first to dis him as well.

I think this first game is dangerous for a team like the Cowboys that is already talking SB. If this defense is what it thinks it is, we should be able to handle Danny Dimes.

I expect acquiring Dennis Houston to put the Giants over the top.

The coach GM combo is a vast improvement over Judge Joey and Gettlemen . I think the coach GM situation is what holds Wash back in the doghouse . Rivera is yesterday . New owners in that city will clean house in 24

The Giants I can honestly see making this a 3 team race with Dallas & Philly .

I wish I had a good feel for which opening game Cowboys offense shows up - the 2021 version that lit Tampa up on the road, or the 2022 version that spit the bit at home against Tampa?

Preseason provided zero insight since none of the starters played. Essentially, this game is a preseason game for the Cowboys, except it counts.

I would shade the Cowboys way if the game was at the Death Star, but being in NY definitely and the Giants fans will be loud and disruptive makes it a true toss up in my estimation. The Cowboys are going to have to weather the initial emotion the Giants will come out with. They’ll have to not do anything to increase that like turn the ball over. They’ll have a chance if they can do that and get to the end if the first quarter and the game settles down.

No think their safeties can be exposed in coverage
heck I think their starting safeties AND their starting CBs can be exposed .. their entire secondary can be exposed

But watch the match up betweex Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux vs Tyron Smith.
Thibby has such elite first step get off and bend.

Fragile Tyron has been kept on ice all camp so what kind of condition will he be in, much less stay whole healthy.
Will we hear sideline reporters pointing out Tyron is getting medical care on the bench and questionable to return ?:(

I'm worried about the same things as you are. I'm guessing they had live reps in practice against our defense. That should be enough to prepare any team. Take the under in this game.
