Post June 1 cut.

Spotrac has the numbers.
What about the guaranteed $?
There is no way the jones boys will cut dak in next 3 years.
Also there is no way to get rid of dak except in a trade, and dak would have to approve the trade.

what would be in it for dak???? He wont get more $ so no reason to go along with a trade.

We are stuck with dak for next 3 years for sure, and that doesnt count this year.

The dak, lamb, and soon to come parsons contract will doom this team to mediocrity for 4 years.

- they may clean house on player contracts " After the Season" ... .not during

- Jerry has never fired a HC during the season, except for Wade Phillips.
Does it happen with McCarthy in 2024 ?

- Are the players playing hard for the coaches ?
Does Jerry expect a 2nd half surge from the HC just like last year 2023 ?

- Sorry, but i'm not yet convince DC Zimmer is the answer for this team. Jury is still out .

- After this season, i'm for pursuing Ben Johnson, Clint Kubiak, Bob Slovick and that implement that Shanahan style offense.
We've tried the retread way no Jon Gruden, Pete Carroll,..and yes No Bill Belichek
The reason he did that with Wade was he already had his Ginger Tom Landry waiting on the sidelines.

We may say we're pursuing some of the hot or up and coming coaches, but the reality is none of them would want to come here given they would have better options than working under Jerry and his circus. It's more likely it would be a retread, an assistant that continuously gets passed over or an assistant not near ready to be a HC, basically someone with limited options or opportunities and willing to deal with Jerry. It wouldn't be a surprise for Jerry to pick someone like Kellen Moore as the next HC.

Jerry has proved time and again, he's not gonna be a player in FA, not going to go after young innovative HCs and will not run this like an actual NFL team, but many fans act that Jerry will suddenly change the way he operates.

As some may of read my post this week about this game being a so called house money game as they were expected to lose. I did believe this had the makings of a blowout, unless they turned it into a shootout and got a few bounces their way on defense/special teams. Problem is, the offense stunk it up and they don't have the excuses the defense has with all the injured starters.

Lack of offensive production falls directly on our HC who calls the plays and our high-paid offensive stars in Dak, Lamb, who both were part of the problem. We have seen 6 games that tells us this team isn't going back to the playoffs this year, where it is clearly evident that changes are necessary now, looking towards the future.

With the bye week here, perfect time to shake things up from the staff and personnel. Things that I would do starting tomorrow:

-Fire MM and replace him with Zimmer for the rest of the season. Promote Al Harris to DC.
-Install Brian Scotteheimer as the new playcaller. Give him the power to make necessary changes to personnel and staff.
-Start taking calls for Zach Martin, DLaw, Cooks, Kendricks, Wilson, veteran players who aren't apart of their long-term future. Obtain as much draft capital as possible.
-Release Zeke Elliot, this is a business not keeping players you like personally.
-Use the rest of the regular season to evaluate the talent and remaining coaching staff.
Nice suggestions.
But we like our guys.
We are too comfortable to do anything out of the box.

Nope,
We are doomed until Jerry steps down.
This team has had no meaningful success for the past 28 years for a reason.
It takes a special skill set to be a good GM and Jerry obviously does not have it.

That's pretty much the point, fans can argue about the QB, the HC, schemes etc. but none of that matters as long as Jerry is in charge.

Our Division sucks. We could easily still make the playoffs. I would prefer a top 10 pick myself.

Any chance we can trade Dak to the Steelers next year? Tomlin went out of his way to over compliment Dak after we beat them.
A top 10 pick is not out of reach with our schedule and injuries.

Zimmer is not the answer. This was the 3rd game where the Cowboys defense did not force a punt at least until the game was decided. Yesterday the Lions never punted. Zimmer's defense is far worse than Quinn's. Sure, Quinn had more talent on the roster than Zimmer, but that does not explain all of it.

Martin and D-Law are has beens.

No team wants to give up assets for either, unless you are dumping them.

Martin they would eat 26mil next offseason if traded. It would be 9mil in 2025 if they keep him and he "retires" as a June 1st cut.

D-Law is injured too to boot. Can he even pass a physical before the TDL?

Here's my dream scenario for next season: Texas wins the National Championship. Jerry brings Sarkisian and much of his staff to Dallas. Dallas finishes with 6 wins and gets a top-10 pick.

This is who the cowboys are, and it won't get better until Jerry and Stephen step aside from football operations.
I think best case scenario they'll come to the conclusion it's completely the fault of the coaches. They won't actually blame their own roster construction as a big part of the problem.
