I have not wasted my time caring about this team a long time ago. Sure, I will always root for them to win, but I know deep down inside we will never win the SB again. $ and the owner has ruined the franchise forever.

I know he has a no trade clause. You think cheap Jerry is going to burn money($62M) and get nothing in return????
Dak isn’t going to accept any trade he’s not building a mega mansion to be traded unfortunately he’s secured for at least another 4 years. The only hope is Jerry stepping aside and letting a real football guy run the team and we all know baring illness that’s not happening. I agree with you but just don’t see much change unless a new HC who isn’t a yes man is hired and I just don’t see that happening based on Jerry’s track record

I mean, he should be down in Hell in less than a decade, maybe the next few years. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll leave it to Charlotte instead of Stephen.

As some may of read my post this week about this game being a so called house money game as they were expected to lose. I did believe this had the makings of a blowout, unless they turned it into a shootout and got a few bounces their way on defense/special teams. Problem is, the offense stunk it up and they don't have the excuses the defense has with all the injured starters.

Lack of offensive production falls directly on our HC who calls the plays and our high-paid offensive stars in Dak, Lamb, who both were part of the problem. We have seen 6 games that tells us this team isn't going back to the playoffs this year, where it is clearly evident that changes are necessary now, looking towards the future.

With the bye week here, perfect time to shake things up from the staff and personnel. Things that I would do starting tomorrow:

-Fire MM and replace him with Zimmer for the rest of the season. Promote Al Harris to DC.
-Install Brian Scotteheimer as the new playcaller. Give him the power to make necessary changes to personnel and staff.
-Start taking calls for Zach Martin, DLaw, Cooks, Kendricks, Wilson, veteran players who aren't apart of their long-term future. Obtain as much draft capital as possible.
-Release Zeke Elliot, this is a business not keeping players you like personally.
-Use the rest of the regular season to evaluate the talent and remaining coaching staff.
Unfortunately, the team doesn’t even have any tradable commodities that they might sell off.

Martin’s contract structure makes him impossible to trade, and Lawrence is on IR until after the trade deadline if he returns at all.

The rest are overpaid spares that no one wants.

What changes are coming???? Zimmer as head coach. GM change? Rush in for Dak? Mazi to the bench for Lett? Hate to rain on your parade but we took an azz kicking. And it's nothing anybody can do to change it. It's in the DNA now...

Stopped reading here. OP thought there was a chance Dak and a bunch of Tito Jaclsons could produce a shootout. Bad OP.

The Cowboys have massive holes. They overpaid an average 31year old QB on the decline. Paid a huge contract to CD. Next year is Parson's turn. Three players will take most of the cap space. Even If they were to rebuild in 4 years those massive contracts were for nothing. You build from the trenches but, Jerry wants flash.

This team has never had to rebuild. Good luck smh…owner doesn’t want to pull the trigger anyway. They like to try and do it “softly,” funny because that’s the theme of this team…

I’ve loved this team for all my life, but man, I’ve never seen it this bad. I just have to be honest and not lie to myself. There needs to be fundamental change. But we’ll only get surface, as usual

Funny thing, is since Jerry has taken over the team had it's greatest success after a true rebuild from the Landry era when he bought the team and then the Walker trade.

Jerry is stuck in this mindset that the team is a year away or this is the year.

Rebuilds won't guarantee success, but at the same time this method he's employed hasn't worked either.

The key difference from then and now, SALARY CAP!

Once you couldn’t just buy the best players with no penalty, it’s no coincidence we stopped having our “edge.” Why hasn’t it come back in almost 30 years? The general manager doesn’t know how to manage personnel under a salary cap.

They tried spending money, but it blew up in their face (Carr) which it does for EVERYONE at some point, so they go away from it…to the extreme, by NOT spending money. They get fleeced in deals or make them a day late and/or a dollar short. Hold on to guys way past their prime, for what? Loyalty? Lmbo…You REALLY trust this family/FO to “rebuild” anything right now? I sure don’t

Oh I agree. Just saying it was funny to see them hellbent on trying to never really rebuild but "retool" on the fly while tanking for the 1st ended up getting them Aikman.

Don't trust them at all, just at some point wouldn't mind seeing something different than the same ole "try" a decade+ later.

I don't think they need a 5 year rebuild, think they can fix their roster and coaching within a 2 yr period, even with the contracts currently on their books.

If I am correct, it's the Cowboys who have to absorb Martin cap hit and they have 20 million of cap.
