Three 7th Round Comp Picks

Same as projected by the guy who took on AdamJT13's data and extrapolates it now.

I do expect we trade up with 1-3 of the picks and focus on the 7ths we can't move.

Lots of guys we can target for a redshirt season due to injury or other issue.
We've done really well with UDFA and I like having this many shots late.

Pretty big boon for a team that is rebuilding.

They aren't yet, but I assume all 32 comp picks will be announced in order later today. We might get some news on the schedule too, but not the whole thing. You know how they like to make an NFL Network show out of it.

it will leak via twitter first IMO.

Last I seen, full schedule release should be around April 17th.
Seattle will probably get the Thursday night home opener, so they may announce that game today and the opponent. As well as some key prime time games.
We know the Cowboys will play the Jaguars November 9th in London. Considered a home game for the London Jaguars.

I could see them keeping all 6 7th rounders.

We know this team needs help... more so in some areas than others.

But still with 11 draft picks it could:

Draft 3 Dlinemen
Draft 3 Olinemen
Draft 1 Safety
Draft 1 Corner
Draft 1 WR
Draft 1 RB
Draft 1 OLB

If 6 7th rounders can make this team, we are in a lot more trouble than I thought.

As a Fan you have to love getting comp. picks in a deep Draft.

Deep in this Draft you find a lot of what we need i.e. Trench help.

With Olinemen that can hold roster spots and DTs that could end up in a rotation some will slide to the later picks and perhaps into Free Agency. It's Deep at WR and RB as well, maybe Dallas lands a Return man at the same time.

Hey it's three more chances to get holes filled and upgrade with young guns, Lets Go Cowboys!

In the big rush to sign URFA's after the draft it would be nice knowing we got a couple of the guys tied up with a draft pick rather than get into a bidding war and losing them to other teams.

I doubt they keep all of those 7th round picks (although I wouldn't hate it). My guess is this gives Dallas a chance to target some players in the middle rounds and trade up to get if necessary.

You CAN'T trade comp picks.

I remember reading a few weeks ago that the ravens may potentially get a third round comp pick, 2 fourth round comp picks and maybe a fifth. That is amazing in a deep draft top potentially get four additional picks in the middle rounds.

As things stand right now we don't have a pick in the 6th round. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to use a couple of the 7th round picks we currently have (since the comp picks can't be traded) to try to move into the 6th round to grab someone they like.

These picks will be useful just to assure that we get some priority UDFA'S we might be targeting anyway. Takes away the risk of a guy choosing to go else where or having to spend a few hundred K extra to outbid another team.

having these 3 extra late picks are us getting ahead of the UDFA market...that can bode well for us (potentially)

That's right Comp. picks cannot be traded.

Using the 7ths we already have trading up into the 5th-6th can land excellent potential in this Draft.

...and 3 comp picks at the end of the 7th lands Free Agents someone else would have likely gotten.

Drafting well deep hasn't been great for Dallas, Free Agency has.

While it's not an exact science, bring in the RKGs!..or not, get 2 players that make the squad out of (6) 7th round picks, you'd have to be pretty excited.

This is such a deep draft, what normally might be considered a fourth or fifth rd talent might be available in the seventh. I would keep them all unless they like someone in the sixth and can pawn off the two normal picks for one.

Bring on the malcontents, just no drug users and alcoholics please.

This.

Give me three overachieving 6th/7th rounders who are team-oriented with the passion to perform for a professional football team over a bloated, underachiever, money-driven 1st rounder player.

Quality teams/management select the right players in the later rounds of the draft which in turn, can certainly add in building a solid foundation for the team.

Interesting tidbit on the prediction guy using AdamJT13's formula: He has the Cowboys getting the Mr. Irrelevant last pick.....
