Which players have impressed you in our first preseason game and which players left you wanting more?

The three players that impressed me:

1. George Selvie- Showed great pursuit and great pass rushing even though he was going up against the 2nd teamers. I'm expecting him to make the team.
2. The running backs- Okay, I'm cheating a bit here, Dunbar, Tanner and Randle all looked good to me.
3. David Arkin- A little surprised here, I really only saw two plays in which he didn't look good, and both plays were positives for us.

Players who I was disappointed in:

1. JJ Wilcox- He really looked lost sometimes out there in pass coverage.
2. Cole Beasley- Just didn't show me much out there.
3. Whoever was punting- Those were some God awful punts.

Selvie, Tanner, and there was a DT whose name I don't remember but came up with a nice stuff near the goal line. Those 3 stood out to me the most. Travis Frederick also played really well.

Matt Johnson and JJ Wilcox did not impress me.

Impressed:

1: Selvie - That is a remarkably strong man for a 4-3 DE.
2: Tanner - Every run had YAC it seemed. He ran extremely hard.
3: Holloman/Frederick rookie combo - Both played very well in their first games

Dissapointed:

1: Pretty much all the safeties - Just looked slow, out of position
2: Beasley - Yuck
3: Free - Very poor run blocking tonight

Some not obvious choices:

Liked: Pendleton, Tanney, Magee

Not: Beasley, Hamilton, Johnson

Nick Hayden I think. He impressed me as well.

1. I thought the interior of the oline played great!
2. George Selvie
3. Holloman who I have high hopes for

1. Glass man Matt Johnson this guy will always be hurt.
2. Beasley give your QB a chance sliding down on the field wide open is just not what you want. I think if Green can play ST he offers a lot more upside.
3. Tanney outside of one pass I wasn't impressed and I had hoped he would bump Stephens off that 3rd spot after tonight.

I think it's pretty sad that Miami wanted to win this preseason game so bad they went back to Matt Moore what a joke.

Selvie, Tanner, and Frederick impressed me. I believe Kendleton came up with that stuff and I would like to see more from him. Beasley was unimpressive.

Yes that's who it was. #72, also came up with the nice deflection at the line of scrimmage a few plays ago

Impressed:

Frederick- Everything we were told and hoped to be true about him is TRUE!
Leary- wow...this guy played the whole game and played phenomenal. More athletic than I thought he would be.
Matt Johnson- I know, won't be popular because he got hurt again but he was really playing well before he got hurt. Was consistently around the ball and was in position to make a couple of plays.

Unimpressed:

Beasley- Worst game I have seen from him. I think this is an aberration though, he will bounce back.
Costa- Was getting pushed back and there was just a noticeable drop off from Frederick.
Stephens- Thought this guy was terrible. No idea why he was in before Tanney. Not that Tanney played outstanding or anything but he showed me more than him.

Impressed: Fred, Selvie, Randle. Awesome job by the O-line in general.

Not impressed: Wilcox, Weems, Stephens. Actually I don't know how I feel about Wilcox. He looked lost, but he was always around the ball. I think he'll do better with experience.

Beasley didn't have a good game, but if Stephens would have thrown a decent pass when Beasley was wide open in the end zone, things would have turned out differently.

I should add that the ball ended up "handcuffing" Beasley, and those are always tough to catch.

Impressed:

Frederick-Looked really good! Looked good at Guard too
Running Game- Very good. All 4 backs played well. Lawrence is fast! Tanner ran hard. Dunbar looked like what we hoped Felix would be.
Selvie- Looked great. You can't ask much more for a player to be signed a week or so before the game, and then dominate. I know it was against backups, but he showed several moves, and they worked!

Not Impressed:

Benton- How can you even make it to an NFL training camp roster and punt/kick that poorly?
Johnson- Dude, you have to stay healthy. I knew he was hurt with the way he spun down on the tackle out of bounds. I was pumped about Johnson and Wilcox, but neither did much to impress. We'll see how they look in the next 4, not giving up.
Beasley- he looked pretty bad tonight.

If Beasley didnt fall down and stayed on his feet he could've helped his QB out
