That is an example I wish I had thought of...because that's exactly what I'm talking about. Decent sack output from all 4 defensive lineman will trump 1 wardaddy all day, every day.

right, we should have 2 war daddies.

I want a ruthless style defense where a qb fears every play cause he thinks it'll be his last, as man who can walk upright. I like simultaneous hits on the qb, once lie at the ankles and one coming from the opposite direction a little higher, but still within legal parameters.

Like the hurt we put on Jim Kelly in the superbowl

Jaylon and Taco can be two.

hopefully, though i think i would be more confident with watt as a blitzing LB than taco as a DE for applying pressure.
especially in the 1st year.
in fact, that is probably an easier place to add pressure players than the DE given our draft position.

Interesting. Those knee surgeries leave me cold in regards to Watt and thats not meant in a bad way. I liked his talent...not the knees. Charlton is a safer bet?

There's a reason you don't see the "46" anymore, and that's because sophisticated passing offenses using short drops eat it alive.
The real problem with the 46 today...is the majority of clubs simply don't have the talent to run it effectively. Those Chicago clubs were loaded defensively. I mean basically its an agressive 8 man front. Very risky in todays protect the QB era.

There's merit to what you posted... It was an amazing collection of talent.

I think the Bears could have run a number of schemes and still would have been dominant.

In the playoffs, for the most part, the QBs are very good and you have to get after them and get pressure.

That's not going to happen with 6 DBs. Even the best DBs can only cover for so long.

Against an Aaron Rodgers, you could have 7 DBs. But if you give him enough time to eat a sandwich back there, you're done.

And l hate to say this...but Ryan was very talented and a great motivator that understood intimidation and how to hide his intentions. He was no schmuck. He was the driving force behind the success of that scheme. Now l must go yhe wash my mouth out. ;)

Sure. The Prevent only prevents you from winning. It chicken poop and leads to defeat.
