I had to watch Alex for a few years when I lived in SF. He is not a bust or horrible QB like many claimed. He isn't very exciting to watch, no natural athletic ability like other QB's but just an average QB who has the ability to play within the game. There are far worse QB's in this league and I would compare Smith closer to Flacco in terms of game styles with Joe somewhat better.

I would not want Alex to be our QB but it could be worse.

sometimes the running back have to read the right whole, make the right cut and break a tackle. Charles is showing how its done. Murray needs to watch tape of some of the best running backs today and watch them read the line and defenders to set up blocks and get yards. Last sunday murray missed too many wide open holes when he decided to ram into the olinemen backs.
