Nothing has been proven about his foot speed. That is all coming from one source.

He likely needs a lot of practice reps because LSU rarely threw the ball and had a simple offense. He was obviously going to look bad at RT in OTAs because he never played on the right. The Cowboys originally played Flozell Adams at Guard to allow him to adjust to the NFL before moving him to OT. He ended up as a 5x Pro Bowl player at OT.

I'm just not seeing it so far with him. But we'll see how he progresses throughout camp.

Are you at training camp?

The available video seems very limited. In what little video I've seen he looked OK, on great and not terrible, but those were mostly just 1 on 1 drills. I'm sure it the full team stuff where he is likely having issues sorting out stunts and blitzes.

I did not know that. Could have sworn he was an UFA

He was an ERFA (Exclusive Rights Restricted Free Agent) this year. He will be an RFA next year. Most draft picks are never ERFAs because their contract normally carries them to RFA or FA status. Leary was on the PS most of his rookie season (2012) and then signed a contract that ended after 2014 which is what caused him to be an ERFA player.

Leary is in a contract year, knows the system and had plenty of motivation once the Cowboys tried to give his job away.

You can bet we'll get his very best.

Again, really shocking the Collins chose Dallas given all the other places he could have walked into a starting OT job.

Considering the party Jones threw (and who attended) for the Collins visit I would have been shocked if he hadn't choose Dallas.

Is that someone's else's opinion or an assumption by you. I can not and will not believe that the front office makes that call. The trainers and the coaches makes that call 100% of the time.

The only reason the FO would make that call is if they were trading or cutting a player and wanted to make sure he was medical cleared so there won't be an injury settlement involved.

For future reference, you might just want to pump the breaks on any of the OP's "tidbits". They mostly are far fetched claims that do not provide any factual information that can be verified from legitimate sources. It's almost as bad as the "liquor store guy" stories.

The more likely scenario is that DMC is being held out for precautionary reasons because he is the only experienced RB on the roster. If he gets injured again and misses time that will put the team in bind on whether they need to go get another veteran. Eatmen believes that DMC will be the 3rd down back, and whoever plays that role needs to healthy as well be able to understand the blitz pickup scheme.
