I hear what you are saying but that's not what we're talking about. You posted that you heard on a sports talk show that that DMC wasn't practicing because the Front Office said he couldn't, though the coaches wanted him too.
man I have one word for your contention about coaches running things.

In fairness to Collins, he's still a rookie, albeit one with special talents. Leary has a distinct advantage having the experience he does, however. Collins is just now getting his feet wet and learning the pro ways of doing things. I'm expecting him to make a big push to start about the time the regular season is about to start. If that doesn't materialize, expect him to make the necessary progress in the offseason and make his return count in a big way.

We have been spoiled by how fast Zack came on and to a lesser extent Fredbeard and Tyron. They ALL did much better then usual for rookie O linemen. Of course Zack was an absolute one in a million almost literally. The number of Rookie ALL PRO guards EVER I believe is like two or three.

McFadden is on the PUP.

McFadden is on the PUP.

It's my understanding that in the preseason, unlike the regular season, you can return from the PUP anytime. The C'boys FO is holding out and being extra cautious in order to allow him plenty of time for his hammy to heal. This is somewhat to the dismay of those in the coaching staff who would prefer to see him getting reps now.

Yes, he can be activated at any time but the key is that he can't go back on the PUP this season.

I would wait for the trainers to clear him for practice and then wait another week.

Leary, can not be this good. Is Collins playing out of position, like he should be challenging for RT, or is he not that 1st rd talent, that he was suppose to be? I think Leary is good, but someone who was going to be a 1st rd pick, should be capable of beating him out.

He's a rook with a high ceiling. Beating out a veteran like Leary is a tall order considering we already have an awesome offensive line. Having Collins is a luxury.

Do the trainers give the ok, or does an MD have to affix a signature?

Man - I read where Stephen has said "WE" as in the team, not us as in the front office. I also heard the same thing out of Jason's mouth. There is no FO vs the coaches on the call when he returns to practice. It's the coaches in conjunction with the trainers who makes the call. No matter what you say, heard, read or want to assume Mr. Corso!

“I know there are a lot of fans that have had their doubts. There are probably people in this organization right now that are a little frustrated that (McFadden) is not out there on the field right now. It’s Jerry and I’s opinion that we want to make sure that he is ready to go when he hits that football field. ... , but it’s our job — as Jerry being the general manager, my job as player personnel guy — that when we do put that player out there that he is ready."

I make no assumptions.

I managed to get on the sideline at SA by "befriending" a lady that was able to get me access, but in general the fans are a beatdown if you're in the crowd. It's all about autographs and Romo, Dez, etc..

Austin with Jimmy was awesome. My very first training camp was in 1992. We were crossing one of the little streets on campus there and a golf cart rolls up with Jimmy driving and Jerry as the passenger. Jerry shook hands with us (I think he was checking out my GF) and then Jimmy accelerated away as I was shaking hands with Jerry.

This was obviously before they had won a Super Bowl, but even the following years still were not bad in terms of crowds.

That's awesome X - BTW - I had no idea you were such a "befriender"

He is just not being viewed as he would if he were drafted per his status in the spring.

If he was Dallas' first round draft choice, people would be bouncing off the walls wondering why he is not starting, whether at guard or tackle.

I can almost picture you right now bouncing around all over one of those bounce houses.

He said Collins needs work and that Leary is a beast. The chance of Collins beating out Leary is very near zero in his opinion. He said the praise that you hear about Tyrone Crawford is not hype and that Crawford looks terrific.
I don't have a problem with any of that.

McFadden really wants to return to practice but Stephen Jones prefers to keep him on the PUP until he is 110%. It appears that Stephen and front office types are holding McFadden out while some coaches are pushing to get him back on the field.
In reading those encrypted quotes, I can see how someone could assume that it's the front office against the coaching staff.

Crawford will be a pro bowler this season barring injury. The guy has top notch explosiveness for the position and very strong for his size.
Can't wait to see them run a front of Hardy, Craw, DLaw and Gregory on passing downs. Good luck to whoever is trying to block them.

Reporter for FWST seem to think he could be ready tomorrow.

“I’ve been feeling good, man,” McFadden said. “I’m just looking forward to getting back out there on the field.”
McFadden said he has no soreness after going through running drills the past few days, including cuts. He will go through running drills again Thursday, and could return on Saturday, following the Cowboys’ off day Friday.

The training staff wants to see him put consecutive days together before clearing him, which makes the wait drag on longer.

I just would like this old boy on the field and healthy. I personally don't think there is any rift between the FO and the coaches and I'm sure there is communication between them all and the trainers and medical staff.
Nor do I really care. It would be little ado about even less, in the long run.

I am on record saying I want to retain Leary. Because of his "knee".....a 3 year extension would be great. This line is young. They have continuity. And I would love for Collins to be the RT of the future.

Reality is. Not everyone had Collins as a first rounder. I saw a few folks grading him out in the second round. And even some of the folks that had him going first round were in the mid to late parts of the round with question marks. So it shouldn't be that surprising that he's struggling. We just got spoiled with guys like Fredrick and Martin. Even Smith had his critics his first year.
Collins is a talent and he'll get there. Just may take a while.

great point. in today's NFL everyone wants instant success and gratification. they complain why he isn't doing good and then complain why the incumbent is not doing good. I doubt if he was graded as a top 20 type pick, but that's fine. he is talented and it will take time. he provides good depth and leverage with Leary.
