Couldn't get past his opening sentence when I tried to watch the video. I had to close the stream.

I used to be a Tiger fan. OK...a little. No more....

I won't criminalize his affairs. I don't approve but it's not illegal behavior. But when you look at the big picture--how he handles himself and playing partners, his tantrums, his being unconscious (what was that?!) when the police found him....this dubious Hollywood style "apology"....it all makes me burp remnants of lunch in his general direction.

Maybe the worst of all is today's "apology," distracting fans and media from the tourney being played today. He is going to face a lot of heat when he returns---and he's earned it.

His biggest sin is that he is trying to act remorseful about it. He is only remorseful about being caught, but he has to try and repair that image so he can reclaim some of that sponsership cash.

I wish he just admit that he's a freak who has a thing for Dennys uniforms, get divorced and hang out with John Mayer. Then we can all move on.

Why John Mayer?

I really do not know why this is such as issue for some? He cheated on his wife, news flash the same could be said for many in the entertainment world (actors, musicians and athletes) I'm not justifying what he did but then this is really an issue between a man and his wife.

Why the media feels they need to know I don't quite understand he is not using tax payer dollars to fund his sexcapades like a politician he is just a man who messed up but he took nothing away from anyone did no harm to anyone other than his wife. If she forgives him or does not forgive him that is between him and her.

I think it is kind of pathetic we live in a national enquirer’s bubble where the public feels they need to know every dirty secret about a person. Is it because we have a feel the need to tear down a person because he has accumulated wealth or recognitions? Tiger stood up today and said he was sorry as far as I'm concerned he does not owe me any apology he did not wrong me in any way shape of form he wronged his wife and kids let them work it out.

While I hold the institution of marriage in the highest regard myself, .. and have absolutely nothing but disrespect and disgust for cheating spouses, .. Dooms is about right on this.

Woods will probably never experience the wonderful blessings that a strong, sustained marriage gives. So sad, too bad for him.

I hear he is turning back to budda. :(

Wonderful.

I agree I don't pity him he did this to himself my only issue is it really comes down to a man and his wife which in my view is a personal issue. If he is to apologize that should be to his wife for her forgiveness should be the only thing that really matters.

He did make a public apology as well and I'm in no position to know what is truly in his heart we can all speculate but why? It is not about us it is about a husband and a wife

Fixed it for you.

That makes Irvin one as well as every other sports figure who has done the same or worse. Evidently his wife is not going to leave him and I hope he and her can work things out but it is for them to determine not me.

Completely agree here. It's stupid that the media even makes this a huge topic. It's a personal matter and shouldn't involve the public. I read that the Golf Writers of America were all upset because they weren't allowed in Tigers presser, they said it goes against all their beliefs and this is a huge story blah blah blah. Media = Idiots as MOST of us know.

And for those people that think Tiger scheduled this presser to piss of Accenture, you should look into it more. The clinic Tiger was at called for a break and since he was on his break, it worked out to do this presser. He will be going back to that clinic when they resume.

I understand people make mistakes, and I'm a golf fan. Tiger has done more for golf than anyone else has. And once he comes back, I will still watch and cheer for him just like I did before.

I saw a portion of it. There is nothing easy about standing up in front of so many and apologizing for his actions. Frankly I was more interested in seeing if he would say anything about his return to the game.

Yeah? I could care less about his personal life.

Is he a good player? Yes? Then I'm ok with him.

I'm not his buddy, so it's not like I actually have to deal with the guy.

EXACTLY!

I'd love it if one of these athletes/celebs/politicians/whoever had the juevos to came out and admitted that they weren't at all sorry.

It looks like for Tiger the mistake was getting married.

Not me.

Frankly I really didn't care what he had to say. All he was doing is image repair.

He's faced a lot of humilation. He seemed very sorry.

He never should have gotten married if that's what he wanted to do.

I just don't understand what happened that night. He said there was no domestic violence, but there had to be. He's lying.

That pc had to suck crap. I would hate to have to hold a pc and talk about the bad things I've done.

I apologize... I was unclear.

I wasn't saying that Tiger isn't sorry. I can't know that.

In my mind there's no question that he's sorry. For me the question is whether he's sorry about cheating or sorry about getting caught.

It may be one or the other or some of both in his case, but I've known people who were sorry about being caught much more so than for cheating in the first place.

Since at least some of the celebrities, athletes, politicians, preachers and what have you that confess in public to having made a mistake likely weren't sorry about cheating, I'd like to see one or two of them have the testicular fortitude to admit that they aren't sorry. Or, that they're only sorry because they got caught. I appreciate that sort of honesty.
