Time for Dez to prove he's still elite

Not worried about Dez one bit.

We have bigger issues.

You should be worried about him he hasn't produced squat since he signed his contract and looks nothing like the great player he was 2 years ago. His production has dropped dramatically especial his TD's. No receiver in the league scored more TD's than him from 2012 to 2014 but he's only scored 4 TD's since. Before long the Cowboys are going to have to start considering using a high pick on a WR. The only thing our offense is lacking is a deep threat with great speed. Dez's big plays have become few and far between these days. He used to be an exciting player but not anymore, it's just him yapping at defenders who are getting under his skin and him showing frustration on the sidelines. It's getting old!

He used to make multiple great plays in games but most of his receptions nowadays are pretty routine. Right now he's not even close to the caliber of receivers Julio Jones, AJ Green and OBJ are. A receiver like those could make our offense unstoppable! The whispers are starting that Dez is not the same receiver anymore and it's bothering him. He's yet to prove he's back from that foot injury from last season. Unless he starts getting it going the next few weeks and starts making some big plays, I'm ready to start looking for an elite receiver because he hasn't been one going on two seasons.

Every game is an opportunity to prove that he's elite. Nothing's changed. He caught 16TD's in 2014/All Pro... he just needs to stay healthy..

Antonio Brown had 7 catches for 106 yards yesterday against NEW ENGLAND with Landry Jones throwing him the ball.

Elite receivers find a way.

You see these receivers without Romo -- Miles Austin, Patrick Crayton, Laurent Robinson, Sam Hurd -- and you just hope Dez isn't a Romo-created receiver like so many others.

Dez found ways when he first came into the league. He had his first 100 yard game with Jon Kitna at QB in 2010. He made some spectacular plays as a rookie with Kitna. He had catches of 41 and 46 yards in back to back games with Kitna. He scored at least 3 TD's with Kitna. Dez was doing things as a rookie that he's not doing now, which is what's so concerning about his play. He was even able to play with some injuries early in his career and play well.

Dez was not healthy most of those 12 games and had awful qb play. Much worse than what Landry Jones did yesterday.

If you're worried aobut Dez I wonder if you have an ulterior motive or just don't understand football and/or our offense. Which is it?

You guys need to get ready to be disappointed I guess, because with Zeke dominating and Dak just needing to convert 3rd downs and move the chains, we don't need a dominant performance from Dez.

and honestly, Dak or Romo are not going to force the ball to Dez just to get his numbers up and make Jerry feel good about the contract.

To an extent I agree but a top WR can do a lot in terms of helping a QB. Dez is great about out muscling a defender but he does not break free often giving the QB a wide open target. I like Dez but right now expecting him to step out there and perform as an elite WR. Not being harsh or unreasonable, Cowboys paid big money and now many fans want to see him be the playmaker and the difference maker.

Pats went 3-1 without Brady. You think they were evaluating his trade value?

And if we want to play that game...What is this team's winning percentage without a healthy Dez?
Big difference. We've never won much with Dez.
One playoff season since he's been a Cowboy and that was more about Murray.

Seriously, the players we receive from a trade with Dez might bring more success than a very talented player we can't count on.

Just as Troy and Emmitt were great players it only made team even more dangerous with Irvin. I hope I am not disappointed and if I am it will be because Dez did not live up to what he is capable of.

Since that contract was inked.....

22 games have passed
42 receptions
551 yards
4 TDs

He should be fully healthy now. It's time for him to prove he's in the elite class of receivers in the NFL.
As long as you aren't blaming the contract, I have no problem with this

It is time for Dez to go back to 2012-2014 Dez and kick some butt

That was his job before and after the contract.......fans act like being a #1 pick carries no pressure..... he handled that and he can handle this

During the bulk of Michaels career he averaged 5 catches for 80 yards per game.

Do you really think people on this board will be happy with that from Dez?

In the 2014 season with a healthy Romo throwing him the ball for all 16 games, Dez put up over 1300 yards and 16 TD's.

What you are leaving out - perhaps intentionally? - is that for the 12 game window you are narrowing your focus to here, Dez had guys with names like 'Brandon', and 'Kellen' and 'Jamiel' throwing him the ball. Brandon, Kellen and Jamiel are not great QB's. They are not Tony Romo. They aren't even adequate bus drivers, as we found out the hard way suffering through a 4-12 season in which 3 of the wins were delivered by....yes....Tony Romo.

Neither, but please continue with your pompous delusion by all means.

I simply said, it's time to prove it. He hasn't really done a thing since he dropped (or didn't drop) that perfect pass from Romo 18 months ago.
