Time for Dez to prove he's still elite

What excuse do you have for his lack of production in the playoffs in 2014? After a 1300+ regular season and a franchise record 16 TD's he only had 6 caches for 86 yards and no TD's in 2 playoff games. He was 3rd in receiving on his own team in the playoffs and Beasley, Witten and Twill all had more receiving yards. Seems to me he started thinking about his contract immediately after the 2014 regular season and forgot about the playoffs. In the 2015 opener before he got injured he was having an average game. In the opener this season before he got injured again he had a career low one catch for 8 yards and dropped what could have been the deciding TD. He hasn't done anything since the 2014 regular season.

What were his target numbers and how many drops did he have in the 2014 postseason?

Don't know how many times he was targeted and he only had the one drop we know of. He's best remembered for a catch he didn't make.

He wasn't getting open to be targeted anymore. We know one of the targets was a jump ball.

Romo had 2 great performances in the playoffs. I guess rolling coverage to Dez had nothing to do with that. Or I guess in your view, nobody rolled covergae to Dez and they just treated him like any other receiver.

Some people are going to whine if he doesn't catch 10 for 150 every single game. They don't take "advanced" things like Bryant's effect on coverage into account at all. If Prescott did what they asked, then they'd pivot and cry about interceptions.

What Dez faced in the playoffs he faced all season, great receivers find a way especially in critical games. The facts are he was our 3rd leading receiver in the playoffs after having a career year during the regular season. He set a franchise record of 16 TD's and didn't score once in the playoffs. Twill who gets bashed all the time had more receiving yards than Dez in the playoffs and he scored 3 TD's. Many make excuses for Dez while looking for ways to bash Twill who's our #2 receiver.

Your argument, just like this thread is nonsensical.

Force the ball to Dez because you pay him a lot of money even if other guys are open. You have no actual game footage to prove that Dez was not open or that the safer throw to a receiver who had the more favorable coverage was the way to go.

Everybody praises Dak because he says I am going through my progressions and throwing to the open ( or best) option - which is definitely the right thing to do but in the same breath you want to rag on Dez for not getting catches, and as I pointed out before he had 6 catches on 7 targets. And then the Dez detractors would take the opportunity to rag on him if in any way he showed displeasure about not getting the ball on the sideline. Time and time again, if you throw the ball to Dez he makes things happen. You show no game footage of him consistently not getting open either. We have seen in years past, and just this year fans complain about Dez not getting the ball and the next game they throw Dez the ball and he comes up big (New York to Washington just this year! If you throw him the ball he will make a difference, if you throw elsewhere, the coverage riolled to him makes a difference!

Stop the nonsense!

Again, just win!

6 catches on 7 targets.

Now, please tell me how he can throw the ball to himself.

Terrance Williams was the main guy in the Detroit game, and Dez wasn't happy about it. I'm still bothered by Dez' reaction when Williams caught the winning touchdown. Dez had 3 catches for 48 yards.

Then, Dez caught only 3 for 38 yards against Green Bay. The guy doesn't run great routes and he can't run by anybody. He is tremendous at fighting for the ball in the air, which Romo took advantage of on that fateful play.

You can spin things however you see fit but the facts are Dez hasn't produced since the 2014 regular season. When you throw the ball to Dez these days he doesn't make things happen like he used to. You get an occasional good play from him and that's about it. The last great play he made was the 50 yard jump ball he caught Nov 8 of last year for a TD vs Philly.

Skip on Undisputed has already started the "It's Dez Fault" storyline, if it goes bad.

He's an Improv talent like Romo.

good thing he got 45m guaranteed.......almost sounds like he knew what he was worth

ps- I doubt he ran thru 20m unless West and Wells really stole that much from him
There was a story about how his new agent(s) (Roc, etc.) had to pay off a loan that Dez had obtained from his previous agent.
