Time for the tough, no homer assements

All right, you guys are obviously not budging.

We can go round and round, and you guys can say the kickers sucked, which I don't disagree with, but it was worse this year IMO. The situation cost us three games, i.e. it was worse. Under 40 yards we were worse. And the head coach tried to improve it by firing Hoffman. It obviously didn't work, and I think the head coach needs to be held accountable for that decision. You guys don't, I guess we disagree. We do agree our kickers suck.

Where we disagree is the assertion that our kickers were considerably better with hoffman here, which I have shown was not the case. Our kickers cost us games this year that is why the struggles were more apparent than the last couple seasons. Last season we were getting blown out so much we didnt realize how bad the kicking % was. Hoffman is not a magic pill to solve the kicking problems a real live proffesional kicker is the answer

I have to disagree with you. You have to blame BP. Look at the kickers pedigrees. Cortez, has been cut at least 10 times throughoot his career. Right there, that should put our headlights on. Thats like eqivulant[sp] to having starting running back of like Lawarence Phillps. Its just a bad personnel decision.

Ill agree with the point of no field goal kicker should miss from inside 35. But we get kickers that nobody wants.

Some kickers we could have had

Gramantica
Morten Anderson

Fact of the matter is, we were one game away from the playoffs. Would a veteran kicker would have won us 1 more game?

Your post is disqualified for even mentioning grammatica

When Cundiff got hurt in camp what good kicker was out there?

I also think that chemistry in the coaching staff is key. If you are running a business, and you have someone on staff that doesn't give you what you need, he can't stay.

So, I have no feeling either way about what BP did with his kicking coach situation.

You haven't shown that wasn't the case. How did we do last year under 40 yards, versus this year? How about in game winning situations? Our kicking was worse this year than I ever remember it, and I've been a Cowboys fan a long time. You can count missing some 47 yarders if you want.

Also who is to say the 45 year old kicker wanted to come back? and come to Dallas if he did?

I used the % of every kick attemted no matter the distance. Last year how many game winning situations were there? we were getting blown out. This year we were in every game except 2 so credit the moron who fired the kicking coach for that I guess. The truth of the matter is our made FGs % dropped by 2 points. Hoffmans kickers hadnt done well in years

you cant change the criteria after you asked. Your question said 45 yards.

Now we're on the same page-Morten is someone who doesn't need daily time at daddy day care. IOW-IF, IF we had this guy...you know the rest of the story...

Trip, the point is that he should be 100% under 35 yards. You can't assume Hoff was the reason for his success under 40 moreless under 35. You shouldn't be a kicker on any level if you can't make a 35 yarder without someone holding your hand.

No, he's 20-30 from 40-49.

I can't find a stat for 45 and in.

Whose fault then? Who gave the kicker the job? We'll find a kicker this offseason, because we know we need one.

We could've last offseason too, but we didn't. We fired the coach.

The same guy gets the blame.

Our kicker for this year was going to be the same kicker Hoffman brought us a few years ago. So now you blame Parcells for our incumbent kicker getting hurt?
