I know this post was made in jest, but I don't think either tackle is lacking passion. Both Petitti and Tucker are players who take losses and poor performances very hard -- just in looking at them, and even speaking to them, you can tell this game means a little something extra to them. Why do you think Parcells seems to like both players?

The problem is that we're starting guys at tackle that were sixth-round picks and undrafted. I like Petitti as a backup, and given some time, I think he might have a little something as a long-term starter. I think asking a slow-footed sixth-round pick to protect one of the most oft-sacked quarterbacks is a poor pairing on both ends.

Petitti blocked the likes of Dwight Freeney in college though. And even the Denver's of this world have undrafted OL.

Sure-Parcells dropped the ball, big time, on Jacob Rogers. However-he could have gotten Bob Whitfield in FA. BW's a step slower, but he still has tons of experience.

You cant switch to a 3-4, fix the secondary, improve the Oline, find a QB, backup RB and find a pass rush all in one off season. Give me a flipping break, the man can only do so much.

Agreed. People wanted us to fix both OL and DL last year, pick up a kicker, a QB, a LB.

I'm not a fan of this older version of BP, but at some point, folks have to realize there is a salary cap nowadays and you simply can't fix things overnight.

Hell, ya couldn't do that WITHOUT a salary cap.
