Time To Be Realistic

I hope people finally realize how important the starters are on both sides of the ball now. All i heard was we have Coleman & Bishop so we're going to be okay, but the reality is Coleman & Bishop are nowhere near the player Mincey is and his absence was extremely noticeable today. Our starting D-Line would've abused the Falcons but there's only so much you can ask of this depleted team. If Weeden had Dez then the Falcons couldn't crowd the line like they did today. I say we sit Mcfadden and start Michael because we need a bruising back for 3rd & short.

Every Cowboys fan should expect 4-4 going into week 5. That's about as simple as it gets. I think we need to really hope the rest of the division stumbles because by the time Romo comes back, we might already be out of it.

I think this team will be 3-6 when Romo and Dez get back. Our only hope is that 8-8 or 9-7 wins the division. But even that may be unachievable. Sucks when injuries cost you the season but it's not the first time. The Steelers just lost their season too.

I think everybody was pretty realistic going into this one. Everybody knew ATL was going to be a challenge as hobbled as we were.

Didn't think the issue was with replacing Mincey, in particular, though. Definitely don't agree with Sydia, though I do agree that if we play this poorly on defense, too, we're in trouble. They needed to step up, and they did not.

I disagree with everyone saying we can't win a game with Weeden. If the defense isn't historically bad in the second half we win this game.

Of all the guys we are missing on the DLINE, Mincey is the guy youre using to make your argument? Not Hardy. Not Crawford. Not Gregory. Mincey?

Did you see the way Jack Crawford was getting bullied on the line today? Mincey would've gotten push which would've helped every other guy on the line. Offensively they did enough to win but the skeleton crew defense eventually broke down.

It's painfully obvious Garrett has Weeden on a tight leash. If they don't trust him that much, Cassell needs to get an accelerated course on the offensive playbook so be can take over. With that said, I don't blame Weeden for this loss. The Falcons made adjustments at halftime and smoked the D. Other than the Eagles game, the D has had issues in 2 of 3 games. Still early in the year but there is hightened feeling of uneasiness now. Will McClain & Hardy make an immediate impact? Will they need a few weeks to acclimate to the speed of the game before they can make an impact?

The season is over. By the time Romo and Dez get back, we will be in too big of a hole standings wise. Honestly, I can't see this Cowboys team winning another game especially with how hard the schedule is. I say we put both of them on IR and shoot for a good draft pick. No point in being mediocre.

Forget the offense. If you give up a 158 yds on the ground, get no pressure or turn overs you are going to lose.

Here's what our offense did in the second half:

3 plays, 4 yds punt
7 plays 29 yds punt
3 plays -2 yds punt
6 plays, 21 yds turn over on downs

Total time of possession (including the garbage time stuff at the end) - 9:53 seconds.

The D didn't play well, but they didn't get any help from the O either.

The offense did nothing in the second half to help the defense. We couldn't pick up a 3rd and one and had great field position in Falcon's territory get wiped out due to 2 penalties. The defense didn't play well but they spent most of the second half on the field due to an ineffective offense that can't complete a pass to a WR.

There is some logic in this but Tony/Dez/Garrett aren't like that.

Disagree entirely with this post, if the division was great then i i'd understand but i seriously think 8-8 wins it. The Saints looked terrible today but they could win next week if we pull this bs again.
