We cant win a single game without Romo................last time that happened was freaking 2010, half a decade ago.

So I ask you my friend, if a professional sports team was unable to win a single game without your services for half a decade, why in the hell would you be giving money back?

If anything, Romo should be demanding a pay raise since the team is incapable of winning a single game without his services for 5 years.

And now we can"t win with him. either.

I swear..

some peple my friend remind me of the band on the deck of the Titanic.

Even. while the decks overflow with water..

we will just play on like nothing bad is happening

Me..I"ll look for a way to save the team.

Good luck ol" boy. You will need it.

Jerry should be redoing JG's contract.

Better yet, he should call the cops and have JG charged for fraud and impersonating a NFL HC.

I don't think anyone is listening.

Tony Romo is only due 8.5m next year and none of it is guaranteed, He is not going to re-do his deal.

His deal was already a bargain for DAL from Day One.

I think its because you need to use more spaces.

Everyone really pays attention to spaces.

Doesn't this make it easy to read?

Doesn't this shtick make my posts user friendly?

I'm telling you, if only you used more spaces in your post.

That would really help.

We are all in the dumps about recent developments and as much as many hope we go after a QB in the off-season..

most of us know deep-down..

we all know Romo will be here again next year as the starter.

so my next question is..

given the past and the present of Romo not being able to play full seasons without some sort of performance reducing injury..

Is it time to ask for a contract reduction..?

I think as it is.Romo has total control of our cap and without relief I don't see how we can get better. Witten is not far behind.

That contract was an investment in advance for winning games..

that has not happened other than 2014.

We have to prepare for the future.

When Payton Manning left the Colts so the Colts could draft anew..

they did it.

Worked out Ok for both parties.

Is Jones going to repeat as he did with Aikman with letting him play too long and get injuries forcing him out.?

Leaving the team unprepared at the most important position would seal our fate for another 10 years.

I'm curious about what you guys think and how could we do it fairly?

Should it be an incentive deal..?

What?

Yes. It's time. If he wants more talent around him, it will be a no brainer. Details are negotiable.

Just for the record, it's a crying shame the Cowboy didn't draft a replacement 2 years ago when I (and many others) was looking to the future. We currently have no contingency plan at QB. No succession plan. Let that sink in for a moment.

Understood.

But most on that list have either won SBs or are still on the upside of their careers and still have a good shot at getting one.

Romo?

Not so.much.

Not even most on that list. 4 of the 7 are considered over the hill.

Ben, old
Rivers, old
Eli, old
Brees, old

Like Brandon Carr, the team has no leverage to be asking for a pay cut.

What would they even say?

We know you've put your body on the line trying to carry this franchise, but is there any way you carry this team for half of what you're scheduled to make?

You can't even create much space by having Rono take less money because the bulk of his cap charge is from previous restructures. Who would have ever thought those could end up sucking?

Ok..

If Romo can't assist the team out of the problem..

then you take this #1 pick we have coming and definitely draft a QB..

and you insert him into the lineup and let Romo backup.

That leaves the door open for Romo to still contribute but we don't sink or swim with him.

And we prepare for the future.

Romo gets released at the first sign the new QB can handle it and the cap hit will be doable.

Beats waiting until all is lost for nothing.

This team likes to emulate the Pats.

Well..those guys are not afraid to let guys go BEFORE they hit the wall.

It may already be to late at this point.

Romo's deal should be left alone. If we ride the deal then if we have to we can get out with a cap savings after 2017. Right now the biggest thing to make sure of is that we have a way to get out from Romo, if his body fails, without having to absorb a huge dead money hit for him.

Romo should be a June 1st cut - saves 5.3m on salary cap. The rookie cap means that we can accommodate a 1st round QB with this cap value. There's no room for sentiment or over paying for historic performances in pro sports.

By who..?

You?

Then you would probably consider Romo in that same catagory?

My point of the thread.

Time to move on.

I didnt say Romo wasnt old.

If those QB's are making more than tony and about his same age. Why on EARTH is it time to move on from a proven, comparatively cheap, qb??? Hence the failed point of your thread.

holy fail, batman.

First, Tony put up an MVP season last year. He only missed this year due to broken bones from taking hits. Anyone can break bones from taking big hits.

Second, the pats are willing to let people go, yet Brady is 38 and will be 39 before next season starts lol. Tony is years younger. So, your premise just blew apart.
