seriously? NO, their organization does NOT believe they can contend. Nor do their fans, because they suck. Gimme a break man.

Just stepping in here and respectfully disagreeing.
I know way too many Bears fans. They know it's an uphill climb--especially in that division--but they do have hope, for now.

Btw, even for the ones that don't believe, recall how many (here and everywhere) gave Dallas zero chance last year? Lots of 5-11 predictions from what I recall.

Back on the subject....given Forte's expiring contract. Yes, if our FO gave up on Randle being starter quality, it might be a match.

I think the Bears have lost Kevin White their 1st round pick for a year due to injury, the Bears might be looking for picks in next years draft.

Rams lost E.J. Gaines, their starting CB, for the season. Might be more willing to trade Mason, but Gurley is in bubble wrap for who knows how long.

No. We are not going to balk at paying Murray $8M to bring in a guy making near the same amount.

I didn't know Forte made that kind of money. Well you are right we don't want to pay that kind of money to a back who is less than Murray. Dallas just needs to keep kicking tires and bringing RB"s in and they will find someone.

He doesn't
The issue with Murray was the 8 mil in later years.
Forte's 7 mil expires after this year, so it is entirely different.

I say this, but I'm not really arguing hard for Forte. I fear he's declining.

let the guys get on the field this week...geez, trade for RB, the team has made a bunch of head-scratcher moves on the surface and are still headed in the right direction...maybe give the FO a little leeway on this on?

I still believe that McRandle could be a very good 1-2 punch....patience...

Id package Randle in a package with a mid rounder for Mason. Randle is good enough to start a few games until Gurley is ready, and Mason is an upgrade from Randle

So this would be a one year and done deal.

I would rather give em a draft pick, keep Randle we need depth.

If your talking about Mason. Given that Gurley is gonna miss two games I dont think they trade Mason unless they get a HB capable of starting a couple games.

Depth at HB wont be hard to find after cuts. There will be some players available capable of being a #2 HB. Also I think depth would be less critical with a player like Mason VS Randle. Mason is a bell cow type. Randle is most likely a committee back

Well part of the point is they would be looking for a CB.

How often do you see trades this time of the year though right before the season is about to start?

Every year to dome degree.

No matter how we feel every team feels they can get into the playoffs at this time of the year. Why would the Vikings re-sign AP if they knew they would suck? Because they don't think they will until reality sets in.

And why should they? The Cowboys are a prime example of a team going from 8 wins to 13 in the span of a season. JUST LAST SEASON the Bears thought they were a contender so what changed between this year and last? The loss of Brandon Marshall?

What changed? Basically everything. From the GM down. Look into it.

If Forte is traded i'd expect it to be around week 4 or 5 when the Bears know what their season will look like.

But as of right now? I don't see why they'd get rid of their best player on their team.

They may not. We won't know if he's available until a trade were to happen. Otherwise, there's no upside to a team saying it publicly.

But the Bears are in a major rebuild and will suffer through several poor contracts filed out by the former GM while trying to restock their roster. Looking at their schedule, they're a 5-win team. I think anyone looking at their division would bet on them for last place this year. They can do that while paying Forte $7 million this year, or they can move him and get draft ammo to build for the future.

We'll see what they decide to do?

Id be willing to pay Forte for 2 seasons. I think he has that left as a top tier HB, especially if we integrate Randle in more. Saying that in order to lower his cap #, extending him may be the way to go. I think he will sign an extention if he gets a 2016 guarantee, at the point I still see him being a 1,000 yard, 50 catch guy. Structure the contract so he is cuttable after 2016

I can dig that!

Just get the Bears to take some part of that $7 million if you can.

That's the player I want.

Lots of talent and still on that rookie deal.

All the superstar RB's are getting old and making big money.
