Again, management and coaches want to see what McFadden has 1st along with Randle and Dunbar. Their top 3. If one of those has a season ending injury, then yes they'll try the trade route. (my guess)

All 3 at practice today, though limited in the afternoon practice, as all will be worked back in from the reports.
All in the morning walke through also.
Watching inside training camp with Brad and Mickey right now. Showed a few reps, but didn't elaborate a lot.

They have 2 more weeks in Oxnard, then back home, to Valley Ranch. And 4 weeks to game 1, so plenty of time. So yes, no need to look at trades at this point.

Doesn't fit our scheme imo. Seems more of pass catching rb. Not a ground and pound guy like we want. I like forte but idk how he'd fit in

Why would the Bears get rid of him? Understand that I'm sure their organization believes they can contend and get to the playoffs this year. They're 0-0 just like the rest of the league. If they start off terrible maybe they'll be sellers around the deadline.

seriously? NO, their organization does NOT believe they can contend. Nor do their fans, because they suck. Gimme a break man.

Wish we could get Blue from the Texans. I would never get tired of "Old School" references!

Yeah, I can totally see the Bears giving up and trading their most important player to another NFC team for a late round pick.

Stick to young, up&coming backups who are stuck behind other guys the team values more. Like I said, Khiry Robinson, Montee Ball, guys like that who have been mentioned before.

Yes, Karlos Williams. Not only mediocre career production at FSU but connected to domestic abuse (pregnant girlfriend) and drug deal robbery. Kid is a top notch athlete but not instinctive, either as a safety (his original position) or as a runner (poor balance and vision). At one point he was projected to FB at pro level. He is a physical straight line guy.

Thanks. Didnt know much about him other then he is insanly athletic but managed to get benched at FSU

Seriously? The Bears? If that's the case, then no team would ever trade any player because they would always believe that they're a playoff contender.

This year's Bears are rebuilding and have 0 chance at the playoffs. And while no team will ever admit they suck, everyone in that building knows they're rebuilding and getting out from under previous mismanagement.

If they feel they have any good options behind Forte, it would make great sense to move him now for assets to continue the rebuild.

Forte's $7 million salary bothers me more than the reported draft compensation. If I were working out any deal, I would expect the Bears to eat some of that money.

I would totally do a 4th plus a conditional pick. Dallas has the cap room and I've never changed my opinion that they are not going into the season with the current crop of RBs.

I was thinking that same. 4th round pick for Forte would be worth it. Lets see here - we have Mcfadden who is always injured. Randle who is proven to be nothing more than capable change of pace back. Then you have Dunbar who really hasn't done anything for 3 years. I don't get why this group gets a pass. I'd trade for Forte and nothing even blink.

How much is Forte guarenteed in future years? That would be my big question about him. It would see odd on the surface to let Murray walk, and trade for an older Forte. But I dont think the Cowboys had an issue paying Murray in 2015 or 2016, but im sure they didnt want to be paying him in 2017 and 2018.

Forte is in the last year of his contract, so at this point, it's just the $7 million in salary due this year.

In that sense, he would be a nice one year bridge to a younger RB next year.

It's just that using up of $7 million of cap space that bothers me. I think Forte would be a solid, if not spectacular starter for this year and if I can get the Bears to pay some part of that salary, I'd be willing to part with that mid round pick.

Id be willing to pay Forte for 2 seasons. I think he has that left as a top tier HB, especially if we integrate Randle in more. Saying that in order to lower his cap #, extending him may be the way to go. I think he will sign an extention if he gets a 2016 guarantee, at the point I still see him being a 1,000 yard, 50 catch guy. Structure the contract so he is cuttable after 2016

That's what Cowboys fans said last year right before going 13 and 4. You never know in a league full of parity. Never mind what he fans think. If it was up to fans Johnnny Football would be a Dallas Cowboy.

You simply never know in this league.

How often do you see trades this time of the year though right before the season is about to start?

No matter how we feel every team feels they can get into the playoffs at this time of the year. Why would the Vikings re-sign AP if they knew they would suck? Because they don't think they will until reality sets in.

And why should they? The Cowboys are a prime example of a team going from 8 wins to 13 in the span of a season. JUST LAST SEASON the Bears thought they were a contender so what changed between this year and last? The loss of Brandon Marshall?

If Forte is traded i'd expect it to be around week 4 or 5 when the Bears know what their season will look like.

But as of right now? I don't see why they'd get rid of their best player on their team.

Forte is 30 years old and is about to become a free agent and probably won't be re-signed. If the Bears start off 0-3 im sure they will be looking to get something for him while they still can.

He could be 1 or 2 year answer at RB
