4 game suspension -- that's the max the Eagles can do. TO gets checks for yesterday and 4 more weeks. The Eagles keep the suspended 4 weeks. TO will file a grevience through the NFLPA. Whatever the details, he isn't playing for the Eagles anymore.

Props to Iggles front office for dealing with this! This is sweet to because the 4 game suspension won't allow for release, then when he does/or if he does he'll most likely get claimed by losing team that he would hate to play for...

To make it any better any team that picks him up next year will be highly looked down upon by all fans and many coaches and front offices in this league.

I don't agree with the above. I think Philly is a much worse team with Owens in the lineup. This will serve to calvinise them. I would not be surprised to see Philly come out of this with a renewed purpose.

I can see this point of view... but I think it's flawed.

They may be a more cohesive team now, but they have a serious lack of weapons on offense. They are a much less dangerous team without TO.

So here's what happens -- b/c it always goes down like this. Eagles go in the tank. McNabb opts for surgery with like 4 games left.

Eagles get a decent draft pick next year -- say in the early teens.

Some stud WR falls to them, leaving everyone scratching their heads thinking "wow, how did that guy last so long?"
