Sorry, but I'm not one to blame TO completely, and the Philly organization isn't so angelic that I'm going to say they have no fault in the situation either.

The guy gave it his all in the SB, does so everyday on the football field, and that made me respect him more than I did in the past.

I'm just kind of tired of hearing a one sided, full fledged bashing of a single individual by the powerhouse of the media, i.e. what I call the propaganda machine. When they have an agenda, they really enforce it and don't let up.

Never mind that TO has EARNED his reputation, all by himself...

Never mind that he signed a rather large contract LAST YEAR, and is now screaming to have it renegotiated... apparently, he thinks he deserves to be paid like the best receiver in the league, even though his PRODUCTION has not been at a level that would justify such a contract (even in this season, which is his best in years, he is not the best receiver in the league statistically, ranking third in both receptions and receiving yards going into yesterday's play)... over the last 2 years, the guy hasn't even been in the top ten in either category...

Anybody who says "the Iggles should have given TO what he wanted" is simply not paying attention, the guy's not WORTH what he wants...

In fact, if you were to pay him what he's WORTH, he'd owe you money... no player anywhere is worth the hassles this PITA causes...

Wow. Stats don't tell the whole story for the receiver, especially when the deciding factor of who's throwing him the ball comes into play as well as the surrounding cast on offense. Michael Irvin was never the best receiver in the league statistically, but there wasn't anyone I would take over him, except for maybe Jerry Rice and he was arguably the best receiver in the league ever. And most people I've talked to think TO is currently the best reciever in the league, and even most NFL personnel men think so, regardless of attitude. I don't think he is - I think Randy Moss is when he wants to be, but I think he's a close second if not even.

And it's just silly to say that he would "owe" you money.

A few things here (too many to quote specific responses) ..

(a) Those of you who want to blame the Eagles' losses on TO are misinformed. The team has problems across the board, depth problems, problems on the o-line, at cornerback (Shepard), a free safety who has lost a step, special teams woes, an injured QB and time management issues just to name a few.

(b) With or without TO, this team is the 4th best team in the division. People who still fear them need to come to grips with the fact that the 2005 Eagles are not the same team as the 2004 Eagles.

(c) The Eagles' "holier than thou" attitude is what got them here in the first place. They revel in being $15 mil under the cap but chose not to re-sign Burgess or Simon, two big reasons their defensive line is having problems.

All in all, they're done, cooked, and not just for this year, but for the next couple of years. They are the 1998 Cowboys, an 8-8 team coming off an impressive run (albeit without any Superbowl victories), a team whose window as closed and will now live in mediocraty until they can rebuild the team again.

I know..you would hear this every year and I was like so what! Spend the money on any and everything.

What's the sense in having all that money but not winning the Super Bowl?

Granted spending all the money dosen't guarantee a Super bowl win..but why let your window close without going for it all?

I would take a few years of salary cap hell for a few Super Bowls.

They've let to many people leave and made the rest mad by how they handle things....Dosen't make sense to me.

Calvinize is when you add metal usually a zinc alloy to steel to coat it and make it stronger and Northern European based Protestant thought ends up in the trash can.

Worldwide Instigators

It's not my line - I wish I was this smart - but ESPN has been dubbed Al-Jazeera for athletes.

Worldwide Instigators?

ESPN has once again blurred the line between making news and breaking news. The sports cable empire wants the entertaining Michael Irvin to make provocative statements like, "The Eagles would be undefeated if they had Brett Favre."

Then they send an ESPN.com reporter over to run that statement by Eagles receiver Terrell Owens, who agrees with Irvin. Now, you know ESPN was desperately hoping Owens would take the bait - and he did.
That was Thursday.

When the Eagles suspended Owens on Saturday, ESPN removed its "entertainment" cap and started doing some hardcore reporting.
I listened to the ESPN Sunday night crew talk about how awful it was that Owens would say disparaging things about his teammates.

Well, fellas, your network was practically begging him to do it.
Maybe I'm making too much of it, but something about all this stuff is bugging me.

OK, I have to go now because the 5 p.m. SportsCenter is about to start.

RE: T.O.

I figured this was it for T.O., when Donovan McNabb basically said last night that he'd rather lose without T.O. than win with him. This doesn't make the Eagles a better team, though they might have more fun in the locker room.

They're still going to have to spend all week answering questions about T.O. and the ramifications and it's going to prove to be yet another huge distraction.

Add to that a hobbled McNabb and a defense that's been getting pummeled and the time appears right for the Cowboys to make a stand and end the Eagles' hopes for a sixth consecutive NFC East title.

In all fairness I think he meant "galvanize". :D It's all good here. T.O is sitting at home thinking up his next string of ESPN quotes and we are here discussing religion. :)

Last night, McNabb threw for more yards, and a better rating than his last 3 games.

Against the #1 pass defense.

Without "weapons"

And that got them a grand total of 10 points. TO is a horrible person, but that's a more dynamic offense when he's in there, with much more scoring ability. Add to that the fact that Andy Reid has forgotten he is allowed to run the ball, and no pass rush, and that equals a long second half for the Iggles.

TO wasn't getting them many points either. He especially has never been successful against Shawn Springs.

Andy remembered to run against the Commanders. It didn't work well, but it did set things up some.

The Eagles have consistent "scoring ability" with or without TO - this I can prove.

What TO brings to the table is "big" plays. This I can prove as well. I consider this a blessing, and a bit of a curse.

The Eagles must find a pass-rush, and our second half will indeed be long. I prefer it that way, who wants a "fast" season?

The Cowboys had a "long season" last year. It was painful. I'm guessing the Eagles have already had a long season. You are wondering now just how long it will be.
