Didn't JJ say on a radio show yesterday that he couldn't cut owens because of cap reasons? The GM trapped himself from the sounds of it. Not too smart.

Right you are. Generous Jerry just couldn't help himself. Competent GMs know when to let a player go. Our turds get paid no matter what.

He will be back. TO at 35 is still better that anyone we can draft, unless we get very lucky. We will have RW11 and Crayton, and Austin is looking very good. So I doubt any big time FA WR will be signed.

It must suck to hate everything about a team you root for...

Or does everything in your life make you this miserable?

So have you said anything remotely critical about the team yet or are we in "hold our breath" territory here? Just trying to gauge how big of a loathsome shill you really are. Help me out.

Does it make you hot for me?;)

Honestly, this team is so screwed up not much bothers me any more.
owens will some day be gone. JJ some day will be in a concrete wall.
I will still be a fan.

That's not what this thread is about.

But, you don't understand that you are just a "glass is half empty" kind of guy and I am a "glass is half full" person- like I am positive your wife must be.

She'd have to be...

No, your metaphorical glass is overflowing with bubbling shillpagne. Try not to overdo it tonight.

Stop lying to yourself. Upon his death, Jones will have his body bronzed and placed on a pedestal outside his new stadium. You don't believe for a second that he'll have Tom Landry's statue upstaged him, do ya?

Actually no. I usually enjoy arguing with you but it seems at times you twist off into that realm...

It's beneath you and you can do better--- I would hope. IMO

Cue the violins. What does Owens being a shy, stubborn, southern black man have to do with anything? Most of the players in the NFL are black. Many of them are from the south. I would imagine some percentage are shy and stubborn. Heck, Witten is a shy, stubborn, southern white man.

You intrigue me, though, with your contention that you, rather than some others, understand how locker rooms work. Many of us played team sports at least through college. Some of us played a little beyond college. Why is it your knowledge is so rare? That isn't a sarcastic question. I'm intrigued.

You have, apparently, made quite a name for yourself in NFL message board circles, moving in nomadic fashion from one team site to another, preaching the gospel of Terrell Owens, even to the point of being banned. It is your right, of course, but I find it an intriguing "fan" experience. Why the passion?

In your world, Owens hasn't made any mistakes, hasn't caused any problems. In fact, let him alone, and he will heal the sick and raise the dead. If anyone has an opinion other than yours, you attack with name calling and extreme condescension, while here Bleu Star follows behind with his little hammer and nail image. There isn't room for another point of view, and you make assertions and accusations based on one thing -- the other poster thinks Owens isn't worth the trouble. Again, other than the obnoxious behavior, this is your right. You may judge anyone's worth based on that person's opinion of Owens. But I find it an unusual quest.

Your "the best defense is a good offense" strategy in taking on anything remotely negative toward Owens is impressive. You accumulate some decent arguments. But the best debaters do not overreach, and in my opinion, that tendency is your downfall.

Two teams have rid themselves of Owens -- a splendid football player -- for bags of jelly beans. The Cowboys were alone among 31 teams (31! I exclude the Eagles, for obvious reasons) in making a serious bid for his services the last time he was a free agent. Dallas was able to sign him to a gimmicky, put up or shut up contract.

You are making the argument, it seems, that this phenomenon had nothing at all to do with Owens' behavior, nothing at all to do with his presence in the locker room, or to his affect on teammates. Those 30 teams that didn't line up behind Jones to sign Owens acted, not in their best interest, but because... because what? Because what?

Again, though you've called me a "hater" and a "holiday cancer," I have no animosity toward Owens. I disliked his act when he was with the 49ers and the Eagles, but that seems rather understandable, me being a lifelong Cowboys fan and those teams being major rivals. I was not in favor of the Owens signing -- that's true. In that regard, I was guilty of the sin that plagued 30 NFL general managers.

But once Owens was a Cowboy, he was a Cowboy. I cheered for him. I appreciated what he brought to the table. In the last quarter of the 2008 season, it became clear, in my view, that Owens' contributions to the team were less than the problems he created. As a result of this opinion, I advocated his release, which I still advocate.

Explain to me why taking that position establishes a Dallas Cowboys fan as a "hater." Explain to me why it is so necessary to virtue to be "all in" where Owens is concerned.
