Toddlers and Tiaras

If you think Jersey Shore was bad! You have to really feel bad for these kids. And their mothers really don't seem to care about the way that their poor kids feel.

They're sexualizing children. There's no two ways about it.

Exactly. Not only that, their teaching them that looks are the most important thing as early as 16 months. The fact they justify spending $4,000 on ONE dress for an 18-month child is just ignorant. All these mothers are sick and are just living vicariously throught their cute children. All of it is disgusting, and I'm a pretty open dude (no homo).

I've seen an episode or two that my wife was watching, the show does a great job of demonizing pageants and pageant moms. Putting your daughter in a pageant can be a positive experience, but not in the way it is portrayed on TLC and not at such a young age. I would probably never put my daughter in one, but if she really wanted to I'd buy her a soccer ball and tell her to go outside and play.

"no homo" needs to be invoked no later than 15 words into your post...

It's the law...

putting a child in the pageants is not a perversion, truancy or misgiving[/wuoyr]

Yeah, it pretty much is... it's telling that child that her physical appearance is everything, and that's a lesson she'll carry with her the rest of her life...

In fact, I think that ALL beauty pageants should be done away with, but of course that'll never happen...

if it doesn't have any effect on you, why do you care?

Uhhh, because I care-- at least a little-- about what's being done to those kids...

odd how men will watch woman on woman porn and love it whereas women won't watch man on man porn.

Women aren't big consumers of porn in general--gay or straight. They'll take a Harlequin romance novel over Dirty Debutantes #49 any day.

Anyone ever watch this show?

It's generally pretty bad, but this is an all new low:

If you put a child in that outfit as a photographer and publish them on your site or sell them to another site, you'd be getting a call from the local district attorney.

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

Send these "mothers" to negotiate with the Taliban. Please.

While generealy not concerned with children. I find these sexabitions deeply disturbing and perverse.

That wasn't a bad flick, but it can't hold a candle to #46...

That is because fantasizing (when reading a Harlequin novel) is much more stimulating than watching erotica visually.

I attribute that to their growing up with smooth Barbie and Ken dolls :D

As the saying goes, "Men fall in love with their eyes; women fall in love with their ears." Or in this instance, prose.

It is a horrendous show. I watched it with my daughter once and was sick to my stomach. These moms and to some extent the dads as well, are so competitive they don't care that their kids don't want to do this. They are forcing them to get spray on tans, walk a certain way and talk a certain way they they are not mature enough to do.

Only a moron would defend these people. Truly disgusting.

You and Big Keith (BBC Office) are obviously cut from the same cloth:
