If we lose this game and Dak plays poorly against them again, the odds of us doing anything special this year go way down. If we lose, we will more than likely have to beat the niners and the eagles on the road in the playoffs. I don't c that happening.
It would be great if Dak had a dominant game tonight.
There can be no fear he's got to use his legs when we get in that red zone no field goals we need to get in the end zone one way or another someone has to step up and make it happen

I'm hoping Dak and Micah whip this team into an absolute fervor where we can just dominate in the trenches I believe it's the first time we have our whole offensive line healthy.

We need to be the bully on the block and knock them silly.

This game could very well decide the seeding and homefield advantage in the NFC. Should they have similar records, the tie breaker would be head to head competition. Seeding is very important, particularly if they get the #1 spot and earn a bye.

I think this is the kind of challenge the Cowboys should welcome right now. (49ers on the road). The way the NFC East shapes up, chances are good the Cowboys, 49ers will meet again (in tournament)

It is only one game. If we win we are 4-1 and if we lose we are 3-2. I get the whole mental aspect of beating the niners but this is the 5th game of the season.
And if the Eagles win we will be 2 games behind them. This is a very important game. We threw one away when we were beaten by the Cards. Not going anywhere as a wild card.

This is where you're totally wrong.

It's one of 17 on the schedule and that's how it rates in the win and loss column in the minds of the 53 men on this team it is a very defining moment.
Are you going to be beat on by this team forever and sent home never to advance in the playoffs and just keep taking the beating or are you going to step up and prove yourself capable.
This team needs confidence and needs to feel capable of beating the 49ers so they can move on further to the ultimate goal.
19-19-1

This is life time record between these 2 teams. The winner of this game isn't gone to win the rest of the games in the future and the loser isn't going to lose the rest of the games in future.

This game this year is important but it's not a lose and go home game either.

That said a loss will be devastating there will be no confidence in the locker room no hope that we can ever reach an NFC championship and get to a super bowl if we get punched in the mouth again because no one steps up I think we are destined to just spiral down to the end of the season.
Are you a sports psychologist employed by the Cowboys who knows the player or are you just some random internet person with an opinion.

I’m the latter.

Winning is better than losing.

The degree to which either impact the psyche of the team is unknown to any fan.

They have to be able to win the big games. This is one of them and the 49ers have been a nemesis for years. This game will speak volumes for the rest of the season

It’s more than that.
Serious conversation, Why is it ? If in week 17 your worried about what happens in week 5, every coach on the coaching staff needs to be run out of town on a rail. If you win (And I think we will) it's not gonna mean nothing come week 17. People need a talking point to fit whatever agenda's they have. And this talking point fits, I get it, but anyone who has played
any sport , at any level knows how fullopoo any one saying that this is nothing more than a week 5 clash against a conference rival. Win or loss I wouldn't want anyone putting more on it, any where near my team

So what do you think happens if they lose?
A Mass Extinction Event the likes of which hasn’t occurred since the K-Pg event that wiped out the dinosaurs.

At least that’s what it will be like here at The Zone

Some fans need to grow a backbone!

Sick and tired of seeing so many fragile egos show up as Cowboys fans. Sheesh.

“Tonight is the defining moment in this season.”

Unless it isn’t.

I’m 1996, the Cowboys once again beat the Green Bay Packers. The Brett Fabre led Packers never once beat the Cowboys, going 0-9 against them. Reggie White, the all-time greatest NFL pass rusher, was again held in check by Erik Williams. The loss to the Cowboys was devastating - except it wasn’t.

The Packers went in to win the Super Bowl that season. The Cowboys lost in the playoffs to the Carolina Panthers, and haven’t been back to the NFC Championship since then.
I will also offer up the Rams from a couple of seasons ago...lost to SF in regular season multiple times...came back and won in the Playoffs and won the super bowl.

Let me count the ways…
The mental state of this Franchise is tenuous. They need confidence of a big win. This includes the QB. He needs this. Playoff positioning. Don’t you want the tie breaker and maybe play these jokers at home for once? You want to lose another to these clowns? A win will probably mean they got to Purdy. That guy has been too comfortable since he came in the league. Need to beat him up and shatter his confidence a bit. That will help greatly. Anytime you can hurt the psyche of Northern California is a good day.
