We can try and rationalize and say it's only one game but it is the game we all know that if we want to ever get any further we are going to have to go through this 49er team

A win tonight and confidence will abound everybody will be playing above their heads from here on out in my opinion and have the faith that we can go further then last year.

That said a loss will be devastating there will be no confidence in the locker room no hope that we can ever reach an NFC championship and get to a super bowl if we get punched in the mouth again because no one steps up I think we are destined to just spiral down to the end of the season.

My question now is who wants it bad enough to put on the cape step up be equal to the task and make it happen.

Someone needs to distinguish themselves as the leader of this team in situations like this by playing real big in a big game to give everyone else confidence just not sure who it will be.

If disaster strikes and we get blown out I could see guys packing it in I don't believe all the rhetoric of we're sticking together and it's just one game their agents will all tell them you're going nowhere this year protect yourself and business decisions will be made.

I'm hoping for a change for someone to step up and play above their head tired of this team getting kicked around

show up win the game

turn off all sports news for the week

3 losses in a row to this team will not inspire confidence. Dallas needs to show up.
Totally agree there's just no if ends or buts about it to get this monkey off our back we got to prove we can beat this team

“Tonight is the defining moment in this season.”

Unless it isn’t.

I’m 1996, the Cowboys once again beat the Green Bay Packers. The Brett Fabre led Packers never once beat the Cowboys, going 0-9 against them. Reggie White, the all-time greatest NFL pass rusher, was again held in check by Erik Williams. The loss to the Cowboys was devastating - except it wasn’t.

The Packers went in to win the Super Bowl that season. The Cowboys lost in the playoffs to the Carolina Panthers, and haven’t been back to the NFC Championship since then.

It’s important but not necessarily defining as in season over if they lose

I think it’s more important for the fans. This place will be in disaster mode with a loss
Fire McCarthy, trade Dak, bring Zeke back, this defense overrated

Did I miss anything? :lmao:

As far as the Dallas Cowboys are concerned............ SO WHAT!!!! It is one of 17 . No more , No less
This is where you're totally wrong.

It's one of 17 on the schedule and that's how it rates in the win and loss column in the minds of the 53 men on this team it is a very defining moment.
Are you going to be beat on by this team forever and sent home never to advance in the playoffs and just keep taking the beating or are you going to step up and prove yourself capable.
This team needs confidence and needs to feel capable of beating the 49ers so they can move on further to the ultimate goal.

Important, yes. Defining to this point of the season... ok, sure. A win will be great, a loss will be a setback. But, not the end of the season.
Remember the 2007 season when we beat the Giants twice in the regular season, before losing to them in the Division round as they marched to a Super Bowl win. It happens.
As to you concern regarding players losing hope on the season if we lose... any player who wants to make a 'business decision', or 'pack it in' after week 5 (with a winning record, no less), can feel free to "let the door hit them where the good lord split them". Don't want them around here.

It is only one game. If we win we are 4-1 and if we lose we are 3-2. I get the whole mental aspect of beating the niners but this is the 5th game of the season.

If we lose this game and Dak plays poorly against them again, the odds of us doing anything special this year go way down. If we lose, we will more than likely have to beat the niners and the eagles on the road in the playoffs. I don't c that happening.

Tonight is the defining game until the next game and then the game after that... etc....no one game during the regular season means more then any other. Win or lose with any luck we will see them again in the playoffs when the game really counts.

Not to mention we lost those games at the end in embarrassing fashion.
It was a disgraceful and embarrassing situation two years in a row going into the off season.

This team needs a confidence boost
