The East is a two team race. This may be the worst Washington team this decade (That is saying something), and the Giants will not pose much of a threat after losing their 2 best players

No.....

Strahan will be ready for the first game.

He'll be there.

Even if he is, he won't be the same Michael Strahan. By all accounts he has lost his fire.

Its august 11, I dont think anyone can make any reasonable assumption about any of the nfc east teams yet.

Teams gameplan and prepare for their opponent the third preseason game, in our case I have a sneaking feeling wade phillips is going to want to play well there, Houston that is.

After that third game we may know a little.

I will say jason campbell looked a little lost, he looked like bledsoe he seemingly had no idea or awarness what was going on around him. He nearly got randle el killed twice.

He throws a good deep ball and with their posession offense that maybe all he has to do.

I think it is foolish to discount any of the divisional teams - even if they both suck hard, they will give us all they have when we play. Winning games in NY and Wash is very tough - even if they are terrible, those games they will treat like their superbowl.

I don't think Portis holds up for 16 games....

You have to credit the Skins for signing Betts for so cheap. I've always thought he was a very solid back.

Looks like they still haven't figured out a way to get to the QB yet. But until we do, I shouldn't talk.

I loved seeing the Giants look bad and us look pretty good, but the Saints didn't look good first week and looked awesome last night, I just can't put much into preseason.

Commanders suck. Really.

They were getting shut out by a Vince Young-less Titans. Vince is that ENTIRE team and even with him, they aren't very good. But they were beating the Skins 6-0 for 59 minutes of the game.

The Cowboys whipped up on the Super Bowl champs.

Notice a difference?

I hate to say it because i don't want to bash anyone, but i've seen a lot of threads in the last couple days proclaiming how bad certain teams will be based on their first PS game, and that's just plain dumb. I can't wait for the next 3 weeks to pass.

True. You can't use the preseason as an indicator of how a team will perform in the regular season.

But you can learn something about personnel.

Campbell has a looonnnggg way to go. Will he get there? Maybe. You could tell in PS games that Hutch and QC were going to struggle.

If your defense can't stop anyone, then that's not a good sign. Think about it, offenses are not gameplanning much in the preseason....defenses won't be running their exotic blitz schemes either, but you'll still see base personnel. If the base defense is overwhelmed by a base offense, then you'll need to worry about talent.

Campbell looked confused against a vanilla defence i'd be a bit worried about that if i was a skins fan.

i'll give them the benefit of dubt since it's preseason but in no way does that take away they joy i feel every time the skins suck like they did tonigth, that is my god given rigth as a Cowboys fan

I watched the skins game also...I fell asleep. It was 3-0 for 3qtrs with Tennessee leading.
Woke up it was 6-0 Tenn midway thru the fourth.
Changed channels and started watching some of the Bears vs the Texans.

Anyway the Skins ended up winning by scoring 14 pts in the last 1:40 of the game and winning 14 to 6. Last td scored by a botched shotgun snap that the Titans turned into a 20 something yd fumble into thier own endzone...

One thing did impress me about the skins though...Laron Landry.
If you could clone a Brian Dawkins FS-Eagles- it would seem Landry would be the closest thing to it. Same body-type and he hits a ton.

when we were 1-15, we OBVIOUSLY sucked.

but what was that 1 team we beat?

don't get cocky after 1 pre-season game. records don't matter when it's in our division.

Maybe-but don't judge anything based on tonight, at all.

For one, the Gints have a new DC(a LB coach from Philly)-so Strahan or no, expect them to be very aggressive once wk 1 starts. And for that matter too, Tiki wrecked that locker room even more so than TO did in Philly/SF-it's a RELIEF he's gone, really.

Two, Joe Gibbs teams tend to look pitiful in preseason anyways. Remember the last time they won the Super Bowl, they were like 1-3.

And three, Eli always hits 70% of his passes throughout the first half of the season-he looked bad tonight, but as much as it pains to type this, he'll be OK, for at least the first half.

And four, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER judge ANYTHING from preseason. Remember 2 years ago, Big Ben had all kinds of mechanics issues that carried over from '04, but somehow miraculously, he cured them from the opening kickoff in wk 1.

This early in preseason, nothing is concrete. Teams will have bad games, it happens.

To say the Boys or Skins suck this early in the game is pointless.
