So I guess Pacman wasnt really that big of an impact to begin with ?

Teams got up on them because of the offense. They ran, ran, and ran some more.

Rankings dont always equate to success, nor many other "football" stats.

Watch the games and it becomes easier.

You watch the games.

That team sucked - especially the defense.

Yeah.

It is unreasonable.

If you think that's a 10 win team you're kidding yourself.

So what do you predict for the win totals within the division come season's end ?

It is lofty compared to last seasons totals, but to me not unreasonable. Same as I don't think 11 wins for the Cowboys would be unreasonable.

I hope you suck less then clevland but i'd be down rigth shocked if the skins won more then 7 games and that has nothing to do with the stinker they put up yesterday

Rookie QB, young offense still without a decent RB, an OC that is basically a rookie in the NFL ranks, no WRs including Moulds woth mentioning, and an average at best OL.

I do watch the games, and although defense wasnt top notch, the offense consistently set them up to fail.

And yet that offense was nowhere near as pathetic as what Oakland had.

Despite that, the Raiders still finished with the league's #3 ranked defense.

Got any more great 'theories' you need disproven?

I predict that the Commanders might split with the Giants and will be swept by both the Cowboys and the Eagles. So a 1-5 division record sounds about right to me.

I'd be interested in your reasoning for such 'lofty' numbers.

How do you feel the Commanders are a better team than the one who finished 2006 at 5-11?

Not many expected the Bears to go to the SB last season at this point. So I guess many people were shocked. Seattle and Carolina (who I stated early was overrated) fans certainly shocked.

The game yesterday was pretty crappy. On many levels.

I am not predicting any SB type of season for the Commanders at this point, and Cowboys fans should feel the same. There are big question marks for both teams. As the season unfolds maybe I could make those type of statements, but at this point who knows ? The Colts certainly arent a great preseason team. But regular season they bring it.

edit: TITANS had rookies at QB. RB, WR, and OC that they depended on ? Are you sure ?

Total overall wins is what I meant. I apologize if that was confusing.

Swept by the Eagles based on what ?
Swept by the Cowboys fine.
The Giants ? Againt based on what ?

I do feel the Commanders are better than the 5-11 they finished last season. For several reasons. I don't think they are the best team that ever stepped foot on the football field but even that remains to be seen.

And your Cowboys Giants, and Eales predictions ?

The preseason really doesn't confirm anything to me, but it does give a person an occasional hint.

I've been saying for years that the Skins would regret trading away draft picks, and I believe they now feel the impact of that. Chris Samuels absence is one they cannot afford. He is not the only one. They have no depth except at RB.

I don't expect them to do much this year anyway, but I do think they can be better than they were last year which was just pathetic. When I see 19 sacks and 12 takeaways for a season I have to wonder how they won 5 games. That simply isn't enough defense.

I said it on Draft day and I'll say it again, they got the best Defensive player in the Draft. It won't be enough to make a difference though. It won't surprise me if they are last in the division, but I really expect the Giants to occupy that spot.

What rookie running back did the Titans have to rely on? They had Travis Henry. Titans also had Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade last year. Are you sure you watched the games?

I'm sure that the Raiders' offense was worse that the Titans'.

Of that I'm sure.

So your excuse of a bad offense dooming the defense doesn't apply.

That I'm sure of.

First round draft pick LenDale White must have been inactive for the season I guess. I must have missed that.

I'm sure, you didn't watch many Titans games.

So why are the draft picks so vital to success ?

BTW- decent depth on the DL, WR, and QB too.

Any more 'pearls of wisdom'?

The deadskins give us fits when they are at their worst

That's the only thing that concerns me about them. When they play dallas it's like the super bowl. They roll over and play dead against the eagles, and they let Tiki Barber singlehandly beat then in the regular season finale last season. Dallas need to realize all these teams in the division take their game to a another level when they see the star on those helmets.

I apologize for the typos, I need new batteries for the keyboard.

Based on the last 2 years it seems the Commanders would split with the Cowboys, or sweep?

Sorry you don't understand the whole, 'ANY GIVEN SUNDAY' thing.

Oh, Travis Henry ? And the Bills let him go why ? Now the Titans ?

Don't get me wrong, I like him as a player, but he is injury prone.

Depth across the board is pretty even for both Washington and Dallas. Washington has its strong and weak points, Dallas has its. Difference is, some people have such homer colored shades that they fail to realize the faults on there own team. Who steps up for Big D if Newman goes down? If Roy goes down? If ANYONE on the offensive line goes down? Julius Jones would be third string in Washington. The only place where depth exists is the linebackers. Other than that every other spot on the team has next to nothing for backups.
