Traded for 2010 2nd round pick.

Rachel Nichols saying the falcons are going to focus on defense in this years draft. DALAMAS!

That's a really nice fit with Matt Ryan and all of the weapons they are assembling.
That's a nice group on offense now.

their offense pretty much resembles ours
a bright, young QB
a stable of RBs
a #1 WR
great TE

they will. Brian Cushing and clay matthews will be gone, so they will draft Delmas. Watch im calling it now!

Would be surprised if Matthews was gone by then...and they're high on Sintim too.

ATL ended up giving a 3rd, but the Chiefs get a 2nd like they wanted

I thought that was funny. We must have given up a 2nd to get Roy Williams last year, but it sure feels like a 1st round now.

Time value of draft picks I guess.

well now that they got a TE they wont get Pettigrew.

They will draft Louis Delmas. Watch.

Why is that? Did Tony find some way to turn back the clock and he's suddenly 28 again? Just because they got Tony doesn't mean they won't (Though I do agree they probably won't) bring in a young guy to be taught and groomed by Tony.

It's not like Tony is going to play forever.

It makes perfect sense for them too. Lawyer Milloy is turning 50 next week and I can't even name their other safety..Gawdd please let this not be. I hope a LB or DE slips..

Well if they wind up with Delmas then you can go back to hoping he's the next Bob Sanders. :p

A talented safety who won't be on the field even half his career games. That wouldn't hurt my feelings if he goes somewhere else and winds up like that.

I figure they just invested money/picks on one of the better TEs in the league. They can draft a 5th/6th rounder for a TE instead of a 1st to see if they can find a gem they can develop for a yeaer instead of being desperate for a TE and reach for Pettigrew.

Damn, watch out for the Falcons. Wish he was traded to someone in the AFC, but at least he's out of the NFC East.

The Falcons still have more holes on defense than they could even begin to completely fill in just one draft.....

Until the Falcons fix their D, and make it atleast respectable, I am not afraid of the Falcons......

It really does. I like some of their secondary receivers too and the line is okay. That's a good-looking offense.
Now that "D" is another story.

I agree that you are most certainly going to be right about that. I just don't think it can be completely thought that they'd totally take any great TE prospect off their board because they have a much older TE now on their team.

But, yes, I do agree with you that likely they'd go in a different direction in round one with Tony now there.

I'm selling the Falcons while their stock is high. I don't believe they make the playoffs this year.

It's not like Gonzalez is a spring pup and he has had trouble staying healthy the last few years.

Most important, their defense is slow and full of holes. Abraham had a great year but he's getting old, Chauncey Davis was second on the team in sacks with 4. Babineaux scares no one and you can't find depth along the DL on the roster. They lost both leading tacklers and starters at LB and besides Curtis Lofton they have nothing of substance to offer. Can anyone name their starting CB's and safety's?

Thomas Dimitroff, Falcons GM, just said because of the trade the Falcons are obviously going to focus on defense. Mentioned how many analysts said they were going for a TE in the first which now changes the complexion of their draft.

Only reason i'm posting this is to get SLATEmosphere to worry more lol.

lol

Problem is they have SO MANY holes in their defense their is no need to reach for any one person and Delmas would be a serious reach.

Braylon Edwards can still make big plays. you guys act like all he does is drop the ball. T.O. was right behind him in drops the last few years.

If a ball drops in an empty stadium does it make a sound?

They will make the playoffs but get bounced at the first game due to the defense. They face the bucs (2 wins), Chi, Wash, 1 win from NO, Jets, Bills, 1 from CAR., MIA, thats 9 wins and good enough for their division
