If Romo wins a Super Bowl, he's in the HOF. I know that may sound silly to some, but I'm not stepping out on much of a limb with that one. Hell, even if he doesn't win one, if he stays this good for the rest of his playing days, he'll still have a REAL good shot at it.

Yep. His stats are good enough that one Super Bowl should pretty much get him in (assuming he doesn't just totally collapse afterwards). I'm not sure if he gets in without one, but if he keeps putting up stats like these for the next 3-4 seasons then he might have a shot anyways.

Didn't see that one coming.

Hey..it's the most important stat to me as a fan. I'm allowed to have that opinion. Guys like D.White are forgettable. Let's hope Romo doesn't end up like that. I really want him to win a SB....

Two? How could a Cowboys fan not know that?

Yep too bad Landry woke up late on Morton in 70 season.

That Staubach QB rating just blows me away. I have no idea how he accomplished it in that era. I guess that's why he's a HOFer.

D. White was outstanding...3 straight NFC championship games...if the ball just bounced differently...or he didn't break his wrist...he might have a couple rings...

Wow, never knew Eddie LeBaron had such a nice season back in the stone age. Wasnt that guy like 5 foot 7?

People forget how good he was. He was AWESOME, but he never won "the Big One". Win even one of those Super Bowls and he might have made the HOF. Win two and he's a lock. Just wasn't to be.

Danny White was 65-30 as a starter. How is that not good enough? He has a wrong label.

Hey, if he had played better defense on Dwight Clark we wouldn't have to call him a loser.

That's not an illegitimate comparison.

Except that McFlab doesn't also punt! :D

what's your problem?? :lmao2:

If that's your attitude about it why even bother.

As will be mentioned several times, football is a team game and not an individual game. This is only Romo's 3rd trip to the playoffs.

In 2006 he had them in position to win the game and there was the muffed FGA.

In 2007 we had the best record in the NFC but the Giants were on a roll and beat us in a very close game that went down to the final snap. You have to remember 3 key plays that went against him in that game: 1. Fasano drops that pass in the first half on the 2-yard line which would have given us a first down. instead we kick the FG. 2. Crayton drops an easy one that should have gone for about 50 yards on 3rd down and instead we punt. 3. The infamous route that Crayton pulled up on ?3rd down where he has the TD if he doesn't stop the route.

2008 season was sabotaged by lack of OL depth, QB depth and TO's festering gob. Romo still managed to lead that team to 9 wins. When they talk about the collapse, it has to be remembered that their losses in December were to Philly (lost in NFCC game), Baltimore (lost in AFCC game) and Pittsburgh (won SB) or 3 of the top 4 teams in the league. Their one victory was against a 13-win team that had just won the previous Super Bowl and wound up winning the NFC East division.

What I'm getting at is there is a lot more to football than just winning the trophy. Many mediocre players have won it and some of the best who have ever played have never won it. It is kind of pointless to bring it up, especially at this point of Romo's career - just getting his 3rd trip to the playoffs.

We all do.

White wasn't forgettable, he just wasn't as good as Romo, Aikman and Staubach.

There is still something to be said about getting to watch the most entertaining QB in the league if not the best QB in the league right now.

If you were to pick a QB to win the SB this year for your team, who would you choose?

I would have said I'd have taken P. Manning, Brady, Rivers and Brees over Romo. After how well he has played down the stretch, I'll take Romo over any of them. He's just about as accurate as any of them and has more escapability and improvisational skills than any of them. He is also just as good as any of them at ball protection (especially when you include fumbles and discount balls that hit his receivers in the hands before being interecepted).

Well said, I am becoming more and more optimistic but as much as this team AND Romo have burned me the last few years, pardon me if there is some mistrust left... :banghead:
