Some days...I really do. Luckily for me I live in Arizona where I cannot throw my clubs in the water. We have water traps in Arizona, just not very many.

He was in a load of commercials and made a movie with Bugs Bunny.

That guy....whatever his name was...

Anyway, didn't he play gold every chance he got?

He was a decent basketball player anyway right? Won a few championships, got some shoes named after him......

I knew before I even read the rest of the thread that your point would whoosh right over some heads.

Golf is evil. He would have won 14 championships if he had eschewed golf.

My thoughts exactly about those who think romo is this "good" NFL qb and who will go to such extremes to defend their ignorant, foolish belief in romo.

Well see just how really good, or really bad he is this coming season.

It's a minor thing, really. Anybody who's griping loudly about his golf qualifiers are doing so for lack of better news, frankly.

But, while I can't find any real major fault with it, I still take some umbrage with it for some reason. It doesn't strike me the right way. The image of it is a little janky, which is an admittedly subversive but important part of being the QB of the Cowboys.

I think what's getting me isn't the golf playing itself but that combined with some of his flippant statements and actions in the past. I'm quite sure his head is screwed on straight, but whatever he said about it being "only football" or whatever he said after the Philly game I think it was, and then the BS about Cabo before the Gints playoff game, I dunno, there's just something amiss there I can't put my finger on. It's like he's "there" but he's not.

Or, what about the damn beggar, homeless man that can't find a job because he's an invalid, then buys the poor fool a ticket to a movie?! WTH? Romo is paid 67 mil to play football...so stop the nonsense and become what he should be...a freaking Robot QB!

And having sex with Jessica? How freaking dumb is that? Romo should know that using and exercising his arm and hand is much better for throwing a football!

Golfing with your girlfriend's father mere days after a devastating loss to Philly? Bad. As Roger and Troy have emphasized repeatedly this off-season, appearances matter.

While honestly I don't care about him playing golf...that going to Cabo a week before a playoff game just gets me.

Would have never seen Aikman or Stabauch or Montana or any great doing that.

Troy even said so.

I like Romo alot...I think we can win a Super Bowl with him.

Hell I bought his jersey and I don't do that unless I really like a guy.

But sometimes the things he says or does just seem a little weird to me.

I love the game of golf and currently I play to a 1 handicap. But here's the problem with Romo and playing golf and I can *see* why some of the critics have a point.

First, you have Romo taking a lot of trips back and forth from Texas to LA, even during the season with his girlfriend Jessica Simpson. Secondly, golf is a very difficult sport. And it takes a lot of hard work and practice to become good at it.

But, Romo is better than being a good golfer. He obviously plays it at a very high level. In fact, he can play at a level that many golfers who do it for a living play at. And he's probably the best golfer currently playing in the NFL, and it's probably not even close. And remember, that includes kickers and punters who have a lot more time to play golf and a lot of the geometry and physics of golf do apply to kicking a football.

So, it gets to the point where you start to think that golf is much more than doing it for fun and playing some celebrity/charity tournaments here and there which is what most of the guys in the NFL, even the good ones like Fred McCrary and Ben Roethlisberger, utilize golf as in their life.

It comes a point where it *appears* that Romo will practice, but then is immediately interested in finding a way to get some golf practice time in, along with making a trip to LA. And often times in the NFL, appearances are just as important as reality.
