Let me first say that i am a HUGE Romo fan, just look at my post history.

BUT there was a play that Tony made that almost made me pull my hair out. We were up 17-10, and it was in the Bears territory, and Tony had just made a few nice scrambling plays. Well he flushes out of the pocket and throws it to TO down the field. Unfortunately it was behind him and incomplete. What was not noticed was the fact that Charles Tillman was a half step away from picking that ball off and going the other way for a score. he was close enough as it is. He probably should have picked it off, and he had day light in front of him.

Just something that was on my mind.

I am not sure if Romo will ever be able to completely take away those inaccurate throws that just happen out of nowhere.

Sooooo, I guess you won't settle for anything less than 100% accuracy, huh?

Almost an int? almost a completion as well. There will always be passes in the NFL that were close to int because the window are you putting the ball in is not that big. I agree the ball was behind TO and Owens had to adjust to the ball but I did not feel that Romo took a great risk on the pass

Uh, it was slightly behind him by a foot or two. It wasn't like it was way off, otherwise T.O. wouldn't have been able to break up the pass because both players were in its vicinity.

Granted, he was running one way to avoide the rush, and threw it back the other way making it a more dangerous play. I'll take a few of those chances every game for the potential to make a big play, as long as it doesn't become a consistent habit for him.

I'm not sure if Romo will ever completely get over that dropped snap in the Seattle playoff game last season either.

We are all just going to have to take the bad with the good with Romo.

He is a gunslinger, he will make some mistakes. But his gunslinger attitude will take us farther than we have been in a long time.

Yea, he takes some chances, and occasionally it won't work out, but he is a winner, he is confident, and he turns nothing into something, often when the D-line breaks through.

His type of "pedal to the metal" play will be hard for defense's to figure out.

I agree but I also think he believe his WR will make the play and many times they do.

Well he got a little unlucky on the INt that Crayton had his hand on too, so I guess that evens out. he also got unlucky on the TD to Crayton.

But, nevertheless I will take the 8 TD's to 2 INt ratio every day of the week.

Got lucky - my word - probably the best game of his career and somebody brings up one play and says he got lucky with it:confused:

That kind of play happens several times in every game to every quarterback.

man high standards.

Many would be suprised if you went back and watched some of the greats, montana, bradshaw, aikman etc...they threw incompletions too...hard to believe, some of them even threw interceptions.

How dare Romo come close to throwing an INT. Joe Montana, Brett Farve, John Unitus, Payton Manning, and Tom Brady never throw INTs. I mean, just because Farve is about to break the all-time INT record doesn't mean he ever actually threw one!

Damnit, this is unacceptable!

It is fair to point out bad throws from any QB. But this thread proves that Romo will ALWAYS be in a fish bowl. Mistakes will be blown out of proportion and he will be micro-judged on everything he does.

Poor guy.

I know some of you get upset when I say this....but I still contend we are asking Tony to do to much...we desperatley need to be able to run when we want to and we need to find another threat outside of TO and Witten. THIS IS THE NFL. Sure we will beat bad teams because of our shear talent...but when it gets down to playoff time...or when we have to go through the division a 2nd time....not having another weapon that is capable of beating man to man coverage is going to hurt us. Again, this could all be simplified with more consistency in the run game (and please don't push me those stats about where we rank running the ball). We have not lined up and allowed this massive offensive line to maul people from begining to end. And please don't start with the "just be happy to be 3-0" stuff. Of course I am happy to be 3-0, but even Wade said we can get better. We let a golden opportunity slip away last year after starting 8-4. Why? Because we were so happy to be 8-4 that we stayed the course...None of us want to be sitting here at the end of the year and ONCE AGAIN be shaking our heads about sitting home and watching an inferior team play for the big prize..the only way we can prevent that is to keep Tony upright in the pocket and cleaning up stuff, despite being 3-0, that will come back to haunt us against good team come playoff time.

You mean he may never get to a point where every pass he throws is perfect?

What is this, I'm gonna start following some other team.

If a defense as good as the Bears decides that they are going to put 8 or more in the box to stop the run, it would be stupid, or should I say stubborn, or should I say Parcellish to continue to try to run the ball.

JG was brilliant Sun night, ... he says if you want to stop the run, OK, we will stop it for you, .. we will pass every down.

Stay in your 8 man front and we will pass all over you.

I think you take what the defense gives you each game.

Don't continue to beat your head against the wall.

I agree to an extent but I also believe that when you line up TO in the backfield and move him around, that he cannot be covered consistently. He can't be effectively doubled that way. If you are going to put 4 guys on TO and Witten (which I think you would to effectively shut them down) then I think Romo is good enough to find Hurd and Crayton enough to be successful. We also have not even had to use the RB's in checkdown more than once or twice a game yet.

Would we be better with TG, obviously yes, but I don't think there is another answer out there for us at this point so we are going to have to continue to do what we are doing and do it successfully.

We are not going to be a pound it out running team, you can forget that idea. It is not happening in the NFL anymore these days IMO. And , I really don't want to be a run first oriented team when we have Romo back there. We will mix them in but we need to keep this attacking style going.

I hear everything you are saying...and I do NOT expect us to go 16 - 0...but I do dread that game (like the saints game last year)...when a blueprint is laid on how to defeat the Dallas Cowboys. Again, this is the NFL. Every team has taken notice of us. Teams that we do not play for another 5 weeks are ALREADY game planning for us. All I am saying is that I do NOT think Crayton can beat single coverage...and if Terry Glenn is not going to help this team THIS year, we need to start dressing Stanback and leaving an OL home. Before it is all said and done, someone other than TO and Witten will have to have a Alvin Harper emergence for us to get the BIG prize
