Let me first say that i am a HUGE Romo fan, just look at my post history.

BUT there was a play that Tony made that almost made me pull my hair out. We were up 17-10, and it was in the Bears territory, and Tony had just made a few nice scrambling plays. Well he flushes out of the pocket and throws it to TO down the field. Unfortunately it was behind him and incomplete. What was not noticed was the fact that Charles Tillman was a half step away from picking that ball off and going the other way for a score. he was close enough as it is. He probably should have picked it off, and he had day light in front of him.

Just something that was on my mind.

I am not sure if Romo will ever be able to completely take away those inaccurate throws that just happen out of nowhere.

I understand where you are coming. It was a risky play (throwing when that close to end zone).... BUT.... this team is developing an identity.

Part of that identity is... we wont be textbook anymore. Textbook being, play it safe and hand off the ball 3 times for a 3 and out. Punt.

Our Identity. We will take shots. We will attack. You dont know what we are doing next. We are no longer predictable.

Thank goodness.

What, he's not perfect??

Then we should definitely cut him... I mean, Roger Staubach never made a mistake, Troy Aikman never made a mistake, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning never make mistakes...

Right??

I know some of you get upset when I say this....but I still contend we are asking Tony to do to much...we desperatley need to be able to run when we want to and we need to find another threat outside of TO and Witten.
We are ranked #5 in total rushing yards and rushing YPG. We have a RB ranked #1 in rushing TD and Total TDs.

TO and Witten has combine total of 5 TDs, same as MBIII.

I don't see the concern with our running game. We are pretty good at taking what the defense is giving, some defense are better at passing game and some are better at stopping runs.

Before it is all said and done, someone other than TO and Witten will have to have a Alvin Harper emergence for us to get the BIG prize

I was about to post a reference to Harper, but to point out something different. Harper only caught over 40 passes once in his career. He was a 30-35 catch guy. If Hurd and Crayton can combine to contribute something similar, plus factor in Glenns contribution, then we'll be fine. Romo has only thrown more than 30 passes once this year. I don't think he's been asked to do too much.

THIS IS THE NFL. Sure we will beat bad teams because of our shear talent...but when it gets down to playoff time...or when we have to go through the division a 2nd time....not having another weapon that is capable of beating man to man coverage is going to hurt us. Again, this could all be simplified with more consistency in the run game (and please don't push me those stats about where we rank running the ball). We have not lined up and allowed this massive offensive line to maul people from begining to end. And please don't start with the "just be happy to be 3-0" stuff. Of course I am happy to be 3-0, but even Wade said we can get better. We let a golden opportunity slip away last year after starting 8-4. Why? Because we were so happy to be 8-4 that we stayed the course...None of us want to be sitting here at the end of the year and ONCE AGAIN be shaking our heads about sitting home and watching an inferior team play for the big prize..the only way we can prevent that is to keep Tony upright in the pocket and cleaning up stuff, despite being 3-0, that will come back to haunt us against good team come playoff time.

Dude, take a look at the games the bears have played this year. SD and KC had huge running games last year, and the Bears SHUT THEM DOWN. Think about that. If a team with the Talent of the Bears says they are not going to allow you to run, THEY CAN DO IT. Thank God we have Coaches that understand this fact now, because last year I have a feeling NO adjustment would have been made and we would have been trying to run against them for the full game. And it would have come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter to see who would win the game.

Instead, this year the coaches made an adjustment and took it to the Bears. Sure we didn't try to pound the run against their wall, instead we came out throwing and completely DESTROYED them. So, instead of all of us sitting on the edge of our seats in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter wondering which team would previal, we were all high fiving and watching our backups hand off to each other as we simply waited for the time to expire.

Think about this as well, there was a time when we desperatly needed to run. That was in the 4th quarter when we had a nice lead and we needed to run out the clock. At that time, we handed the ball off to Marion 8 straight times and we marched down the field and absolutely put the game away. I contend that the reason we were able to do this is because the defense had been absolutely man handled while trying to pass rush. They were either hurt or dead tired, and had nothing left for us.

This was a hell of a win against a hell of a team (you did watch the superbowl right? the bears were there for the NFC remember?), and there was no LUCK about it.

I hear everything you are saying...and I do NOT expect us to go 16 - 0...but I do dread that game (like the saints game last year)...when a blueprint is laid on how to defeat the Dallas Cowboys. Again, this is the NFL. Every team has taken notice of us. Teams that we do not play for another 5 weeks are ALREADY game planning for us. All I am saying is that I do NOT think Crayton can beat single coverage...and if Terry Glenn is not going to help this team THIS year, we need to start dressing Stanback and leaving an OL home. Before it is all said and done, someone other than TO and Witten will have to have a Alvin Harper emergence for us to get the BIG prize
Crayton (with 10 good fingers) has shown that he can beat single coverage, and we can also utilize the backs a lot more in the passing game. Thing is, so far, we haven't had to because Witten and/or TO have been open.

Don't worry, there are other weapons in the arsenal.

I have no doubts at all that Crayton can and does beat single coverage. The guy is a great rout running and normally has great hands. Dallas in my opinion have as many weapons as the Colts team and as mentioned if teams want to stack the line then we will throw on them if they backoff we have the ability to run the ball.

Proof?

By the way, if this was true, those coaches need to be fired, because unless you have a bye week, or a mini-bye week like the Cowboys do around Thanksgiving, you need to be focusing all your gameplanning and strategy on the next opponent.

To complain about Romo after what he did to that Bears' deffense is just plain silly. There might be two other QBs in the NFL right now playing on a similar level to Romo, and I don't know that anyone in the league has his pocket presence.

You could also say that if Dallas didn't drop passes early on, they would've been up by a lot more than 17-10. I think it's important to look at what he brought to the table and what he may have or could have taken off the table. So while he had perhaps one lucky break, he had a few bad breaks as well.

You mean you want Bledsoe back? Really?

Yah-Ledslow would have TAKEN a sack in that situation, and we would have been completely knocked out of FG range.

BRAVO!
