I'll take a few of those chances every game for the potential to make a big play, as long as it doesn't become a consistent habit for him.

OK, which one is it?????

We are all just going to have to take the bad with the good with Romo.

He is a gunslinger, he will make some mistakes. But his gunslinger attitude will take us farther than we have been in a long time.

Yea, he takes some chances, and occasionally it won't work out, but he is a winner, he is confident, and he turns nothing into something, often when the D-line breaks through.

His type of "pedal to the metal" play will be hard for defense's to figure out.

I disagree. There is a difference between a "gunslinger" and a "play maker". Favre is a "gunslinger". And Romo will never make as many mistakes as Favre did. It's not his game.

You really can't apply the connotation that is associated with "gunslinger" to Romo.

Going by his current numbers and performances to date, he's more of a "play maker". :)

I know some of you get upset when I say this....but I still contend we are asking Tony to do to much...we desperatley need to be able to run when we want to and we need to find another threat outside of TO and Witten. THIS IS THE NFL. Sure we will beat bad teams because of our shear talent...but when it gets down to playoff time...or when we have to go through the division a 2nd time....not having another weapon that is capable of beating man to man coverage is going to hurt us. Again, this could all be simplified with more consistency in the run game (and please don't push me those stats about where we rank running the ball). We have not lined up and allowed this massive offensive line to maul people from begining to end. And please don't start with the "just be happy to be 3-0" stuff. Of course I am happy to be 3-0, but even Wade said we can get better. We let a golden opportunity slip away last year after starting 8-4. Why? Because we were so happy to be 8-4 that we stayed the course...None of us want to be sitting here at the end of the year and ONCE AGAIN be shaking our heads about sitting home and watching an inferior team play for the big prize..the only way we can prevent that is to keep Tony upright in the pocket and cleaning up stuff, despite being 3-0, that will come back to haunt us against good team come playoff time.

Maybe I fell asleep or something, but didnt we just play the defending NFC Champions in prime time in their backyard with the refs in their pocket (doubt a playoff game can be any more of a bad situation) and we b####ed slapped them up and down the field?

So far 2 of our 3 wins have come against playoff teams from last year. Boys and girls, we are not the Steelers beating up on JV teams, we are openning a can on playoff teams.:)

ROMO IS THE HIGHEST RATED PASSER IN THE NFC, 2ND OVERALL IN THE LEAGUE.....WHAT EXACTLY DOES HE NEED TO CLEAN UP???

Did you even SEE the game? The Bears were lining up 8 men in the box-that was WHY we couldn't run early. So the obvious adjustments are to exploit their secondary-and you saw how over-rated the Bears' sec was. What happened subsequently after having this success? We were able to RUN the ball.

Would Parcells have done this? He would have continued to run-run-pass the entire game.

Jeez...I think your nit-picking dude...That play is insignificant compared to his body of work that night. It is amazing that when he made his first start, everyone just prayed that this undrafted free-agent did do anything to lose the game for us. Now everyone expects perfection.

OMG, are you serious?

I could have sworn that people were complaining when Bledsoe (or any other previous QB) was not taking chances and throwing the ball in tight windows. Why don't you talk about that pass he made against the Giants last year when it went through the DB's hands and Glenn caught it, I still can't believe he threw it .

It is true, no matter what you do, some people will still find something to whine about.

I don't understand your critism of the run game...We are ranked 5th in rushing offense in the NFL. We are obviously relying on the consistency of our backs every now and then...It seems like some Dallas fans are nervous that we are 3-0 and appear to be so dominant coming out of the gates...Enjoy it for what it is...A 3-0 start. There is no automatic bottom that will inevitably fall out. We have clearly proven our offensive dominance up this point, there have been no fluke wins. As for your statement, that we will beat Bad teams? Is Chicago a bad team? As for Miami and the Giants, yes they are bad teams...But then again, we beat them the way a good team is supposed to dispose of a bad team...

Like I told this above poster-the Bears were stacking 8 in the box-you're NOT going to run on that.

The Bears did the same thing against the Chargers in wk 1-but Norv failed to adjust-*shudders* if Norv were on our sideline, we would have LOST this game.

I don't think the guys a true fan ( and I am not talking about you TunaFan..I am referring to bbailey...). A majority of fans have been elated by Romo's performance/progress...Especially because of the beating he's been taking in the media since the playoff loss..And everyone assuming that since he was undrafted, "there must be a reason, sooner or later some team will expose it". I wish people would just judge him by his stats..Good or bad (and they happen to be very good right now...) judge him by his stats..

Now that Romo has womanized the Bears D, along with his previous body of work.........I believe.

And I could care less if he is undrafted.

And I could care less what the nit-picking pansies in here think.

Romo is a QB that can win the game for you. He is not a bus driver.

Last week Spagnola was saying Romo better not try some of his stunts with the Bear defense. I thought to myself "Are you nuts Mick?". That is what makes Romo so good. He Makes Things Happen.

Let me first say that i am a HUGE Romo fan, just look at my post history.

BUT there was a play that Tony made that almost made me pull my hair out. We were up 17-10, and it was in the Bears territory, and Tony had just made a few nice scrambling plays. Well he flushes out of the pocket and throws it to TO down the field. Unfortunately it was behind him and incomplete. What was not noticed was the fact that Charles Tillman was a half step away from picking that ball off and going the other way for a score. he was close enough as it is. He probably should have picked it off, and he had day light in front of him.

Just something that was on my mind.

I am not sure if Romo will ever be able to completely take away those inaccurate throws that just happen out of nowhere.
What if's again.

Does Romo get credit for throwing the ball away 4 or 5 times in that game, when no one was opened?

Does Romo get credit for side stepping a sack 5 times in a game, where a sack was replaced by a 1st down?

By my account, da teddy bears should be lucky we didn't put a half-a-hun on that a** we could've easily scored 50. Not only did Crayton drop a point blank TD and we miss an easy FG that was blocked, but how many successful drives were stalled because of horrible penalty calls?

If you can throw the ball 50 times successfully, why not do it? If you can run the ball 50 times successfully, why not do it? Do what works.

If Romo keeps it up he's gonna sit fat and pretty on top of the hill as Dallas' most impressive undrafted player, let's take a glance at the all time list:

Drew Pearson-1973
Cliff Harris-1970
Mark Tuinei-1983
Bill Bates-1983
Nate Newton-1986
Tony Romo-2003
Mat McBriar-2004
Sam Hurd-2006
