This was actually one of the better case scenarios if you think about it.

Rushed Romo back because we still had a chance. We lost yesterday pretty much sealing our fate, so it was best to shut him down for the rest of the year anyway.

Gives him even more time to recover-- back and collar bone. Not like this break is a career ended or even career threatened.

Oh yeah I'm not one of those people thinking his career is over or anything like that. I'm just saying they should have shut him down before anyway. There was such a slim hope of getting to the playoffs. I mean 7 straight games? That's a little much to ask of Romo when your o-line isn't playing up to par, your defense is up and down, and you have no quality running game to help take that pressure off.

And that's to say nothing of the fact that this coaching staff is absolutely abysmal at being creative, at getting people into their strengths, at adjusting, at anything. The OC and HC here are absolutely terrible when it comes to creating mismatches and adjusting. It's truly sad.

Rushed him back way to fast because they thought he was just going to magically win 7 straight games and save their season after this coaching staff, and team, completely failed to even win 1 freaking time without him.

All they did was unnecessarily get him injured again for a season that didn't really have much of a chance of being anything anyway.

As soon as they lost those 7 straight they should have shut Romo down for the year.

I'd agree with this, if it wasn't for how sorry the division has been this season. Had there been a team that was running away with this whole thing, I think they may have shut Romo down for the season but with the division ( though with a steep hill to climb ) still being up for grabs, I can't totally fault them for having faith that Romo would pull off a miracle. Sadly, it was not to be.

Brought back too soon, obviously wasn't completely healed. Could be a blessing in disguise if we can get a top 5 pick and draft a QB. Romo playing was never going to get us a top 5 pick, so we need to take advantage.

The re-break does not have me concerned for Romo being fragile going forward, it wasn't completely healed and he was brought back to simply have a "chance". Backfired

Put some crazy glue on him and getting back in we can still make the playoffs.

Like Weeden did?!? Romo got his hands full trying to coach Garrett. It better be Romo picking the qb!

Sorry...venting....!

Weeden is Weeden. He is what, 30? Young kids around 21 or 22 want to learn. Big difference.

I'm excited to research the QBs I the 2016 draft.

Not saying it's the right thing to do but I will be surprised if they go qb in the first round.
I think they will shore up the backup qb situation and make another run at it with tony and the boys.

Look I understand that view point. I understand why they wanted to believe that.

But you have to look at who you've got in there. We had to play the Panthers and Greenbay. That's two games that we definitely could lose (and obviously we lost the Carolina game) in a stretch when you have to know you can't lose any.

Now yes they could have won those games, without question, but you have to use a little common sense here and realize that there is a good chance that one, or both, those games could be losses and the two with the Commanders are always a toss up at best.

The reality there is that the chances were slim to none to run that table if for no other reason than you had to figure that Romo was going to be pretty rusty for a game or two, at least, since he didn't really play in the preseason much and he's now not been out there, in games, for 8 weeks.

All that stuff should have been weighed and factored in and when they dropped to 2-7 they should have realized that was just too much.

I think when Romo is 50 he won't even be able to swing a golf club. At some point some Doctor is going to look at Tony's Xrays and say what the heck happened to this guy?

I don't know why I thought it would different from any other year, but this isn't what I expected from the Cowboys during the 50th Anniversary of the NFL

A chance to get a quality qb. If you have it, take one.

One and only reminder .. this thread is about Tony, his injury and the future. Mindless bashing of the front office, coaching staff, etc. should be done in the ton of other threads available on those topics.

I never want the cowboys to lose but losing won't be a bad thing going forward.
Jerry has ignored the QB position for a decade.that might change in the draft.
