Most second-round quarterbacks are either first rounders who slide or reaches. Reaching for a quarterback doesn't stop in the first round. That's why the second-round tends to be a QB wasteland.

I agree but if I'm reaching..I would prefer to do it when a top ranked pass rusher or receiver is not on the board.

Who exactly?

There is no sure thing Andrew Luck prospect pro scouts are drooling over. You take the BPA with a high pick. Some desperate teams reach for quarterbacks early, we are not at the luxury to do that because we have about 30 million dollars guaranteed to pay to Romo over the next two seasons until we can think of playing someone else.

I really hate when people use this comparison. Before the draft all you heard was Luck was a once in a generation QB prospect. Now we can't draft one high because they aren't Luck? Cam wasn't an Andrew Luck prospect either and look what he's doing. Bortles wasn't and he's looking like he can be a good QB. If you're waiting on the next "sure thing" Luck QB you won't be getting one for another 10-20 years.

I like goff.

Plenty of us called this when we failed to secure a quality rb. Tony is too fragile to be out there slinging it all over the field. It would not be a reach to draft Goff in the top 10. You guys wanting a second rounder are nuts. Take the best available when he is there. Goff should be our target. If we can get him at 10, trade down. We need a qb that has a chance to be a franchise qb. Hard to get one in round 1 much less round 2.

Dream scenario- we are able to get a top 3 pick,.. Trade back down a couple of times while stock piling 2nd and 3rd round extra picks. Those combined with our expected compensatory picks should allow them to address all areas this offseason.
The secondary needs a complete overhaul, only Jones and Scandrick should be kept. We need another linebacker and a couple of defensive lineman to collapse the pocket.
We also need a real #2 receiver that will make teams pay for doubling Dez and rolling coverage his way.
A running back would be nice- because McFadden doesn't fit the scheme they want to run

I think I'd lean more towards Lynch than Goff due to the higher upside, but not really in love with either of them. Need to see a lot more.

Coincidence or sports karma. Hmmmmmm

Shouldn't his shoulder pads protect his chest more? Make him wear whatever shoulder pads Eli Manning wears, that guy gets crushed all the time but still never misses a game

Man overboard, I guess Jason is going to have to row his own boat now.

If the past is any indicator, he'll be rowing in circles

The Campo years are sure to return if the Cowboys reach for a QB especially with a top 5 pick and they don't pan out. I don't follow college football that closely but have heard the QB class this year doesn't look that great. I doubt Jerry would pull the trigger on a QB in the top 5 or top 10 if that's where the Cowboys end up because the team has problems deeper than at QB. This is not a good football team even with Romo. I would take my chances in the second round on a QB but the Cowboys need their top pick on the field not carrying a clipboard on the sidelines for what could be at least a couple of seasons.

I watch tons of college football and I'll tell you there are a lot of good Qb prospects in this years draft. Certainly more than there was last year. Last year I felt there were no QBs worth taking in the first round. I felt better about Winston than I did Mariotta. But thought neither one were world beaters.

Goff (Cal)
Lynch (Memphis)
Cook (Mich St)
Allen (Ark)
Prescott (Miss St)
Hackenberg (Penn St)
Wentz (N Dakota St)
Doughty (Western Kentucky)

All of these are pretty damn good prospects. Now who knows which one(s) will develop into good/great QBs but at least there are plenty of prospects to work with as compared to last season

Thank god it's a clean break. I was worried.

I think you've misinterpreted the message. The original break was a clean one that went entirely through the bone. This one is a hairline fracture, otherwise known as a stress fracture, which is highly susceptible to re-injury. Hairline fractures have a tendency not to heal as well as a clean break and frequently get reinjured due to that condition. They appear on the x-ray as a hairline crack in the bone, rather than a clean break. It's true that hairline fractures don't require surgery but unfortunately, the healing process routinely isn't a sound one. Sorry to say so but I don't see this as good news at all.

I was joking. Maybe I should have put a  at the end.

Rushed him back way to fast because they thought he was just going to magically win 7 straight games and save their season after this coaching staff, and team, completely failed to even win 1 freaking time without him.

All they did was unnecessarily get him injured again for a season that didn't really have much of a chance of being anything anyway.

As soon as they lost those 7 straight they should have shut Romo down for the year.

Haters are rejoicing.
