Hog wash. Romo puts us in position to win but the rest of the team has to execute. Name one QB in the NFL that could do better than Romo on this team.

He's only played for a year and a half people... get over it.
but than again he had 4 years to watch and learn. he also has a top 3 wr, a top 3 TE, a good running game, and last but not least he plays the most important position on the most well known team in the league. it's time for Tony to put up or shut up.

Troy Aikman (who is widely considered to be one of the most accurate QB's of all time) averaged 12.8 int a year in his career. (his first 2 years starting he averaged 18 a year)

Romo (who is thought of as a gunslinger) has averaged 16 int a year in 2 years.

2 other gun slingers

John Elway averaged 14.1 (his first 2 years he averaged 14.5 but in his 3rd year he threw 23 interceptions)

Brett Farve averaged 16.9 int a year in his career (so far) (but averaged 18.5 in his first 2 years as a starter)

He hasn't played two full years, so he's averaged closer to 19 per year.

But you have to consider that he's a downfield passer, so he will have more INT's. McNabb gets 800 yards a year from Westbrook's YAC alone, which pads his yardage and cuts way down on his INT's. Romo hasn't had anyone approaching that, but that's where I think Felix will help him.

Neither did the other players I mentioned.

Tony started 26 games his first 2 years as a starter 28 including playoffs
John Elway started 24 games his first 2 years as a starter 26 including playoffs
Brett Farve started 29 games his first 2 years as a starter 31 including playoffs
Troy Aikman started 26 games his first 2 years as a starter and no playoff games

So Only Brett played more his first 2 years as a starter.

Try again.

Also only one of them won a playoff game in their first 2 years as a starter .....

It was Brett ...... and the next week he had to come to Texas Stadium .... and got crushed.

I wasn't comparing Romo to the other players you mentioned. If I'd wanted to do that, I could have easily brought TD's into it (Romo had 9 more than any of the other guys.)

What I was doing was saying you have to look a little deeper than counting INT's.

Make sense?

Okay... deeper into what? All we are saying is that he is no more worse than the other great QBs in history. So how can this possibly be a "put up or shut up" season? You and everyone else are acting like he's a bust if he doesn't deliver right now.

I'm not saying I don't want the ring, I do. I'm just saying that I'm not going to consider Romo a bust or playoff choker if he doesn't get it done this year. But I will be mad as heck, but not to the point that I want to ship him out.

He's young (in experience) and talented and needs time to grow.

Deeper into what makes a good QB, I guess. Jason Campbell threw 12 picks to Romo's 19. Nobody's gonna say Campbell had a better season.

IOW, I agree with you.

Okay, but do we agree he has the tools and talent that make a good quarterback... and do we both agree he is a good quarterback or are you saying that without the ring or playoff win then he is not one?

He'll win a playoff game, don't worry. And you don't need a ring even to be considered a great QB.

About how our lack of YAC affects Romo's INT total:

Compare a QB's margin for error on a 20-yard pattern as opposed to a 5-yard dump to a RB. Think of how many defenders there are between QB and WR on the 20-yard pattern. How perfect the timing has to be. How good the blocking has to be. How precise the route has to be. Any of those things go wrong and an interception is likely.

More than half of Favre's yardage last year was after the catch. This is an element that is completely missing from our offense, and I believe it's why we drafted Felix.

So I assume that if your boss and co-workers ask you to dump your wife or girlfriend you'd do it for the good of the company? I mean after all, if you weren't spending so much time with her, you could be at work making dividends for the company. You selfish guy you.

Celebrities usually attract celebrities because it's hard to date "ordinary" people because you never know if they want you for you or because you're rich & famous.

With that being said, I don't think any celebrity should dump their mate because their fans want them to. All this talk about how mad we get because celebrities think they are better and above us but we sure are quick to try to tell them who they should and shouldn't date or be attracted to.

ACtually the majority of celebrities are marries to unknowns. You are going by the handful that make the news on a regular basis.

Tony is new to alot of stuff... being a celebrity is one of the things he is new to... Simpson is not. Tony is a puppy/nice guy in a dog eat dog celebrity world.

I will go on record in saying that he does not end up with Jessica. With that said... he cannot afford to cost us seasons because of this playing around with celebrities. His LEGACY depends on it... already.

well if guys like Crayton would catch the ball when needed to, and if TO could get open in the last half the season like he did for the first half, and the record would not get to everyone's head, then yeah we could probably get over that hump.

Romo was not totally innocent, but I believe it was more on a team level. Although it did seem like when TO went out, no one stepped up to the plate at all, and when TO was in late in the season, he had a real hard time getting open. I remember the announcers showing him struggling with just one guy covering him late in the season as well as some of the roll out defenses opponents put in for him.
