My point is Bush was getting hype as the next Sayers and Sanders as the next great running back. I don't know how I can explain it any better. I have no problem with him getting all the attention for his receiving abilities or yards after the catch, but why then does the media overlook what he is doing running with the ball? Like I said, if Sanders or Sayers were doing this their rookie years, I doubt they would have gotten this type of media hype and they probably would have been benched. Bush was supposed to be this great runner. And the media still is talking about his wow factor and ignoring his ineptitude in regard to his rushing stats.

you dont seem to understand the makeup of our team. We will have to agree to disagree on this but just fyi i think i made it clear that i wasnt questioning romo's talent or staying power. I was only questioning the media hype surrounding the past 6 games. Your acting as if i said romo was garbage and Saint Reggie was the supreme rushing RB in the league.
If you followed the hype over reggie anyway you would know he was mostly regarded as someone who was a big play threat on any down, and an amazing receiver out of the backfield. Someone who could create mismatches. Those things are true, and barring injury he will likely break the rookie receiving record (he needs 11 receptions)
Tony Romo has played very well and im not saying i doubt he will continue to do so. I'm just saying the media needs to slow down annointing new kings in all positions, on all teams. Do you agree with this?

I definitely agree with that... but you have to admit Bush got as much or more hype and it's undeserved when compared to Romo's.

If you got a beef with the Romo hype, the Bush hype has to be worse.
thats fair on many levels. Not the least of which that i think all the attention bush has gotten has actually made his rookie season more difficult lol

I agree with that...(just think how many times the media has attempted to annoint a new "America's Team") LOL!.

Romo gets the media buzz for a variety of reasons:

1: He's the quarterback of the aforementioned "America's Team"
2: He was undrafted, from a small school.
3: It was Bill Parcells that benched one of his "Parcells guys" to play Romo.
4. He replaced a QB that has already been replaced by a "young gun" hotshot once in his career and watched him take them to the Superbowl.
5. He has played "lights out" football ever since he took over, leading THE ENTIRE NFL in his QB rating, over such notables as Payton Manning, Carson Palmer, a guy named Brees, and everyone else!!

Could all this fall off??? Of course. Look at Rothlisberger (I'm not sure that Ben ever got a chance to fully recover from his injury and his appendectomy)
but until he does he's THE STORY in the QB world.

I beg to differ there... when they were undefeated he was being touted as the MVP favorite. Romo's not getting that type of hype.

Begging to differ is ok :D

BUT... there is more to Romo than there ever was with Rex....

Romo - undrafted QB to start mid-game/season
Romo - never started a game
Romo - QB'ing America's Team
Romo - handling adversity and winning - Rex hasnt

With Rex everyone was waiting for the other shoe to drop... thats no longer the case with Romo

I agree and would add with Rothlisberger Pitt was not asking a lot out of him they ran the ball and used the passing game sparingly in Romo case he is being asked to throw an average of 30 times a game. This season Pitt has asked more from Ben and he has not come through. Some of it could be due to coming back too soon from injuries but to me it seems that he has not been able to handle the added load he has been asked to handle

IMO, he's getting attention for these reasons.
1. He's a Dallas Cowboy (and I'm not being funny)
2. He replaced Bledsoe and is kicking butt (and the media is dying to see Bledsoe punked again by an unknown QB
3. He's not your normal QB. The guy is flat out exciting to watch. He's not just going to back up, look around and fire. He's going to be animated at the LOS, pointing moving around, then when the ball is snapped, he's all over the place to get away from the rush if need be.
4. He's got a good young look (i'm not gay but I guess good looking)
5. Did I mention he was a Dallas Cowboy? ;)

Well Rex was MVP favorite after 6 games. Romo has started 6 at this point and has played lights out.

And non-Cowboys fans are "waiting for the other shoe to drop" as well.

That's one reason this thread was started.
