Lemme guess. Ed Reed has never made a play right!?

Ed Reed is 10 times the player Bob Sanders ever thought about being.

You're absolutely right. He almost never makes a play. He's a below average safety.

I've seen them when he's on the field, and he never makes a play.

He is undoubtedly the most overrated player in football right now.

I wouldn't say "never" but that second sentence... I've gotta completely endorse that. Sanders' should be arrested for stealing that DPOY award IMO.

You are comparing the best playmaking safety in football to arguably the worst? Dude, you are making a joke of yourself.

Sanders has played in the league 5 yrs, he has a total of FIVE interceptions. He has a total of FOURTEEN passes defensed. He has 3 1/2 total sacks and only two forced fumbles. He has ELEVEN career tackles for loss. If you think this guy is a "playmaker" you are stoned or something.

Most overrated football player in the league, hands down.

You have Newman in the top 5 where he belongs. Good job. I'll take him, and you guys can have anyone else you want.

I'd put DeMarcus Ware at the top of the DE list, because he's better than all of them, too. I would lump Ware and Harrison in with the DEs and rate them as edge rushers.

Roy Williams by comparison in basically 6 yrs (discounting his last season, lost due to injury) has 55 passes defensed (including 3 seasons in double digits) 19 ints, 3 tds, 9 forced fumbles, 6.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss.

And Roy never got mentioned for DPOY, even though he has been far more of an impact player than Sander has ever been.

Hard to argue with facts isnt it.

And by the way, I like delmas, but if he is "next Bob Sanders" I wouldnt want to waste a pick in any round on him. We need a guy who can make plays on the ball, not somebody who once a month makes a nice hit on a RB.

I'm assuming you are old enough to hold down a job, so I'll ask you a question.

If you only showed up to work half the time, but you brought intensity(with no substance), do you think you would be considered the best in your profession?

That is essentially what Bob Sanders does....he shows up for half of his teams games and doesn't do much when he does show up, but he does seem intense, and he has his own commercial for the united way on the NFL Network.

Bob Sanders is teh Man!!!!111!!111!!!!!!!!!

"In those four games, he racked up 27 tackles. He was soon dubbed "The Hulk", due to his reckless and punishing hits on opposing players which prevented many of the big plays that the opposing teams might have otherwise made happen. The Colts had the worst rushing defense in the NFL statistically, allowing at least 100 yards rushing in every game. During the playoffs, however, Sanders continued his comeback from injury, and breathed new life into the defense. The 2006 Colts in the playoffs, with Sanders, had the second best run defense with only 73.3 rushing yards allowed per game. Sanders went on to help the Colts, on the road, to their victory in Super Bowl XLI. Sanders made a pivotal play in the AFC title game against the Patriots. With the Patriots looking to clinch the game with a first down with under three minutes to play and holding a 34-31 lead, Sanders dove in front of Troy Brown and deflected the pass, forcing the Patriots to punt and giving Peyton Manning the chance to drive for the game winning touchdown. Sanders made a couple key plays in the game against the Chicago Bears, forcing a fumble from running back Cedric Benson early in the game and intercepting quarterback Rex Grossman early in the 4th quarter after cornerback Kelvin Hayden intercepted Grossman on the previous drive with both picks helping seal the 29-17 win."

Just a quick little wikipedia search..Ya he sure is trash and never makes an impact.. They don't win that SB without him.
I know of only 3 people who think Bob Sanders is overrated and they are all on this board..

Make a public poll as a thread, I bet there are more people that think he is overrated then think he is some sort of alpha male.

lol I was just thinking of doing that..I don't think he's some Alpha Male, I just don't he's overrated. That's drastic..the guy is one of the best SS in the game..And Dblair blabbed about how he never makes plays or impacts a game which is an unbelievable statement..

Would it be a little more fair if dbair said, he makes one play a year, maybe?

Ed Reed has more ints, more passes defensed, and almost as many sacks in 1 season, as Bob Sanders has in his entire career.

Bob Sanders is a myth.
