This narrative which is arguably more true than not in most cases and why most franchises are willing to pay Market Prices for less than Elite QB. This narrative is also a Troll killer.

Exactly. There’s a reason NFL Gm’s pay QB’s of Dak’s quality.

Look at some NFL franchises. There are literally some franchises that have spent literal decades looking for a good QB and suffered the entire time while trying to do it.
Absolutely…

Competitive playoff teams is much easier to manage, build and promote than bottom dwelling franchises continuing to look for a QB.

If Dak doesn't play at an elite level in 2022, yeah, you can still knock his contract.

Again, just because teams are signing QBs to big deals doesn't somehow make all other large QB contracts now fair or smart decisions.

The best part in this laughable comment is you clearly think somehow you are smarter then all the GM's in the NFL that have not only acquired a top 10 QB, but secured their services long term.

I got news for you.............................not only does this comment show a complete lack of understanding of football, but also QB play.

You dont belong in these conversations buddy.

With Dak barely still in the top 10 salaries now with only Wilson and Cousins at 35 million below him because they’re contracts are nearing their maturity we can finally put to rest how much Dak is being over paid.

And if Jethro had resigned Dak when he initially wanted what Wilson was making at 35 million we’d be in much better shape.

I suspect by the time Jackson, Burrows and Herbert resign their deals Dak won’t even be in top 10-12.

We need to stop calling these QB being paid Elite deals. They are Market Prices.

And we really need to stop looking at yearly average which means very little. Cap hits are what’s important.

Daks cap hit last year was 17 mil and 19 mil this year. Yes, 49 next year and 52 in 2024 but most likely will restructure or resign by then which with signing bonuses always pushes these huge contracts to back end.

Fans are always looking for a scapegoat and Dak
Has given them plenty of ammo with his uneven play.
Hopefully he can become more consistent this year.

This was the plan all along with Daks contract…and why it was overreaction to freak out about it. Even playing as a 10th an in the nfl, which he will likely be better than, he’s at the least at market value.

we have to remember the market sets the value not our historical pov. No matter what you think about it the reality is middle of the road starting qbs are making a crap ton of money

Trolling again I see, and yes they are paying Dak way too much that's the only debate to this point. Keep pushing top dollars for a no show QB, not smart.
NFL players, coaches, scouts and execs rank Dak as a top-10 QB.

Keep furrowing your brow in a vain attempt at understanding football. Pure comedy.

The Dak trolls can’t stand it.

Dak is worth it to remain relative and competitive. Much like the rest of these less than Elite QB’s signing Market Prices. Which is the bigger point.
The results so far say he isn't worth it, just because folks jump off a bridge because they see other doing it doesn't make it right, maybe you should check out a few bridges.

Good Lord, I didn't expect this from you of all people. I have a healthy respect for you even if we don't always agree. But this is just fluff, statistics, and touching on nothing that matters. You can't be serious with this?

“DURRRR DA RESULTZ SAY HE AINT WORTH IT”

And yet NFL players, coaches, scouts and execs rank Dak as a top-10 QB.

Maybe it’s YOU who doesn’t know football? And not NFL players, coaches, scouts and execs?

If Dak was getting paid 2 million per year would you still cry like a baby? Would you admit he was a bargain?

Oh wait......................................You cried like a baby for 5 years already.
Yep

Just another talking point for Trolls. And now that’s been squashed.

The bigger fact is we could have signed Dak even earlier for 35 million which at the time he was demanding because Wilson was highest paid. Look where we’d be now.

This an attempt to squash the Troll narrative over Daks contract. Nothing more.

But yes. I am serious. It’s time for all fans to acknowledge these Market Price QB contracts at the time they are signed don’t necessarily represent the QB’s pecking order in the league.

And that they are necessary to secure your franchise QB. The alternatives are much less attractive or sound Mgmt.

In totality none of it is smart but what he’s trying to convey is that this is the way the league works.

Teams pay to be competitive and have a real chance week in and week out. Anybody who’s a top 14-15 QB who gives their team that chance is going to get top dollar.

We really have to stop thinking about this in terms of where the guy ranks because that’s not how GM’s pay their guys. If the owner and GM have a QB that allows them to fill the stands, have a competitive chance every week, and wins games they will re-sign him. It’s not really a debatable thing because obviously players should get paid based on their ranking. But that’s just not how it works.

We can complain about fair or smart but the reality is every GM in the league signs these guys to top market deals. Only team to not do it is Washington and I bet the FO and fanbase would rather have Cousins and a chance at 9-7/10-6 and playoffs than what they’ve had since he’s left.

There are only 4-6 elite QB’s at one time. Spinning the wheel to pray you land on one isn’t a realistic strategy. GM’s don’t wanna get fired and owners don’t want to go 4-12. A lot more to signing QB’s than purely where they rank.
