Trade Austin?....

utrunner, you are officially INSANE. Miles Austin is an elite WR in the NFL, and if you dare say Roy Williams or the unproven Kevin Ogletree ill call you nuts, if you bust out PC or Sam Hurd your insane.

Miles Austin is the next Michael Irvin, most system receivers don't break tackles, make catches when TE's think the pass is for them and tip it, jump up and make inhuman catches.

Miles, whether you relize it or not has more Football Talent than any WR in the NFL Today excluding Andre Johnson, who IMO is a top 5 WR all time.

Austin is as good as gone my friend, time to start thinking of a new name, I suggest Romo2Roy, get it before it gets too hot.

As for Austin you will see the light next year when he is with the (name of some dumb NFL team here) and does not do jack.

I have yet to see Austin throw blocks like Roy, say what you want about Roy but he is a team player. Even AFTER Romo acts like a baby and scowls at him after every single play trying to make it seem as if its Roy's fault. All Austin does is run down the field fast, he does not throw blocks he does not fight to get open, if he gets open he is open if not, well maybe he will next play.

Roy>> Austin.

:laugh1: you seem to forget to mention when the ball is thrown Miles's way there is around a 70% chance of a completion and he will fight for the ball and then fight for extra yards.

When Roy is thrown the ball their is a 33% chance of completion, high INT. rate, and he either drops it or doesn't get extra yards. I'm a UT fan too, but im not a mark.

Jordan Shipley, Jordan shipley, did he really say jordan shipley? He will be lucky if someone calls him after the draft is over, jordan shipley, that guy is not just an idiot, he is astronaut.

Gerharrdt is no better, he'll at least get drafted but he will become another Mike Alstott, maybe.

No way we give up Austin, find some other way to get picks to trade with the Rams to get Suh.

I agree with you for the most part but I'd pull the reigns back a bit. I've personally got these WRs above Austin: Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Larry Fitz, and Reggie Wayne as WRs I'd fear more than Austin. If Austin can replicate what he did this season I'd maybe consider putting him even higher and put him up there with Irvin. He's a great game changing WR and very very very very close to elite.

SUH WILL BE A BUST if he falls to pick #100 I don't want him.

Oh yeah? You seem to forget that 75% of statistics are made up on the spot and the other 35% are wrong. Bring in all the fancy numbers you want math boy, it does not change the fact that Austin is a lazy receiver who yes, sometimes fights for yards (mainly to see himself on the camera...see Kansas City Game) but other times just jogs his routes and does not care.

At least Roy is an every down player. Sure he has some drops but 66% of the time those are on Romo who has still Yet to figure out where Roy likes it.

IF we can get 2 first rounds out of the bum I don't know why we didnt trade him yesterday.

I don't think he'll be a bust, it's more that I don't think we need him b/c we've got one of the best front 7s already. I think Suh will turn out to be a solid pro.

I don't think it will translate to the NFL, either way their is no way he will become the best Defensive player ever as some people refer to him as.

@UTRunner07, Roy was good years ago, he lost it. You don't like Miles? Ok best not watch the team for the next 10 years, he will be headlining every win.

:lmao2:Austin won't be in the league 10 years from now. If he is lucky he will be on an NFL Europe team...but even that is doubtful. Anyone that does not see Austin for what he is simply needs to go back and re-watch every game from the past 5 years.

I agree Austin may not be in the league 10 years from now because he'll be 35 and probably retire as a Cowboy legend.....

Austin: Targeted 125 times, 81 receptions 1320 yards 16.3 yd/rec 11 tds. 9 games started
Williams: Targeted 88 times, 38 receptions 596 yards 15.7 yd/rec 7 tds. 13 games started

Austin: 64.8% of targeted passes caught, you project him out to 16 games started 2346 yds on 144 receptions w/ 19 TDs
Williams: 43.2% of targeted passes caught, you project him out to 16 games started 733 yds on 47 receptions w/ 8 TDs
Just for info: Jason Witten 75.8% of targets caught

It just goes to show... Roy Williams sucks, Austin is pretty damn good.

If Romo threw as good of passes to Roy as he does to Austin and Witten we would be golden. Romo constantly throws ahead and high to Roy, Roy likes it low and behind. According to your stats WItten is better than Austin but I then according to most on here Witten is not as good as Austin...explain that stat boy.

Witten and Austin play different positions.... that's like apples to oranges. They face different defenders and different coverages. If anything Roy has single coverage and Austin has double and still has better numbers. And as far as Roy Williams is concerned, we've all seen Romo hit him between the numbers in the hands and he's dropped them (don't need a stat for that, just game film).
