In order to rebuild you need cap space and high draft picks. Trading Cee Dee doesn't equate to either. Trading him for draft picks kills cap space and trading him for cap space won't net good draft picks.

Because then you are risking this FO to find another one. The name of the game is to keep the good players and get rid of the bad ones. You build around Micah and Lamb. Not send them away.

Last I checked CD had 8 starts and we are 3-5. He is not a difference maker on a team with so many needs. The goal is to build a team not keep our favorite pet cats.

You trade him for draft picks. We need draft picks. That's the only way to rebuild b/c of Daks contract and the one we are about to give Parsons. Trading CD will also free up cap space b/c his new team inherits the contract.

I think we can all agree MM isn't coming back. Jerry is going to have bring in a real HC with a track record of building teams. I'm hiring Belechek and Mike Vrabel as DC / asst HC.

This is all hypotheticals and assumes Jerry is going to be so embarrassed after this year he will have to go hire another "Parcels" to fix the mess. Whoever that is will need draft capitol bc they won't have cap space.

Dallas needs to pay his signing bonus which is about $38 million. That gets accelerated the moment Cee Dee leaves the team via trade or cut. Dallas may get a decent haul for him but will eat a lot of cap space. Dallas has the option to pass the signing bonus onto the next team who will likely offer a lot less in terms of draft picks due to having to take on the salary. It's the Cooper situation again.

The time to trade CeeDee and Micah past when Jerry decided to pay Dak. I actually thought Jerry had a plan when he shocked everyone with the Lance trade. Apparently that trade was made to light a fire under Dak to sign a below market value extension. The trading of anyone for any value time has passed. Jerry thinks the Cowboys can win next season with a healthy team, draft picks, and a better schedule.
