The one time he held a player accountable?Jerry broke one of his rules, he let his money get mad.

Not really - it's been well documented. That's a conspiracy theory. Its not what Jerry says.
You can't build a team around one player. You can feature certain skill sets as the center of your foundation. CeeDee Lamb has shown to be a team player focused on improving, and doing whatever he can to help the team win. It's his leadership and the example he sets that you build around, not his position. Remember what the offense looked like before he and Cooper showed up? Completely useless. Now? Add a RB and a decent linemen or two and we're back in business. You can't build a team around a WR. CD has 8 starts and we are 3-5 in spite of him being 4th in the league in yards. WR is a complimentary position.
I'm picking up what you're putting down, but there will never be a trade fleecing like that ever again. That was a historic trade and a completely different era. I'm not sure what you could reasonably expect for Lamb, maybe two 1sts, but the problem is that you then have to turn around and draft a WR again anyway.Worked in 1989.
I think its harder to make the trade in the offseason b/c teams have draft options and free agents available. A team making this trade with us now is on the cusp of contending for a super bowl and just need that one player to help the QB. Kinda like we did with Roy Williams giving Detroit a first and a 3rd out of desperation mid season.I'm not against the general idea, but I think the time to do it was 6 months ago. I'm not sure that you can get much in return for offloading the contract, plus you'll have the negative cap ramifications as well.
Yeah but Roy Williams came to us on the last year of his rookie deal. Has a team ever traded a player this early into an extension like this? Doesn't all that guaranteed money come due from a cap perspective right away if they trade him?I think its harder to make the trade in the offseason b/c teams have draft options and free agents available. I'd love to trade Diggs but I don't think he's worth his contract and the rest of the league know it. The falcons went after him yesterday. He is not a feared CB. Same with Dak. Nobody is inheriting that contract. I'd prefer to trade Parsons but he's injured. I doubt a team would trade mid season for an injured player.I'm picking up what you're putting down, but there will never be a trade fleecing like that ever again. I'd rather move other players. Parsons, Diggs.......Dak(I know, I know. The no-trade clause. It's a joke)
We might be on the hook for the prorated signing bonus. The remainder of the guaranteed contract is definitely inherited by the team that trades for him.Yeah but Roy Williams came to us on the last year of his rookie deal. Lamb is a waste of 30 million as due to the ineptness of our QB you cannot utilize his potential to the max.Last I checked CD had 8 starts and we are 3-5. He is not a difference maker on a team with so many needs. The goal is to build a team not keep our favorite pet cats.
Fair enough. I was (for some reason) forgetting Parsons is hurt.I'd love to trade Diggs but I don't think he's worth his contract and the rest of the league know it. I'm not trading CD b/c I dislike him. I'm trading him b/c he might be the player with the most trade value right now.
No, and no.It was a dumb signing. Should have traded him at the end of the season.
No. You would be wrong. Again.I bet you were against the Hershel Walker trade bc he was "one of our best players!"
Why, we literally have NO receivers lolIn spite of his contract which is fair market value for a WR of his caliber, this is the time of year a contender in need of a WR might bite. CD is not happy and that's likely not going to change given the mess on offense and the front offices unwillingness to make moves. He could be an Irvin-like leader but its more selfish pouty than 'leader demanding more from those around him' pouty. You have to watch him on the sidelines to appreciate the problem. Why not try to trade him for picks before we have no choice but to dump him like Amari Cooper?
Our fans are bonky broLol, as bad as it’s been Lamb is 4th in the NFL in receiving yards. No thanks
Doesn’t apply here.Free speech man.
Sure whatever. I look forward to the day you are no longer a staff member so I can block you.No. You would be wrong. Again.
How can you watch this team then call out people for their good leadership skills? His lack of leadership skills is what is killing the team. No one is holding any one else accountable. He is the second highest paid player the team. Like it or not he wears this. It's his leadership and the example he sets that you build around
Trades are not the answer unless Dak is traded away or cut.In spite of his contract which is fair market value for a WR of his caliber, this is the time of year a contender in need of a WR might bite. Ok, so you take our QB who isn't playing well with a star WR so you remove that from the equation and that somehow makes our team better? RB's were then and today are much easier to find than WR's who normally take a couple years to really develop. You can't build a team around a WR. CD has 8 starts and we are 3-5 in spite of him being 4th in the league in yards. WR is a complimentary position.
