for what its worth I thought Lynch is coming around....he looked pretty good last week. this is a very unrealistic trade proposal.....i doubt the other teams would do it to begin with.

OMG this the worst thread on Cowboyszone. This is the NFL. Trades rarely work and you don't trade a guy who has been this productive.

If you think you've found a qb, you cling to him because they are too important and too hard to find. If you have two good QBs and one is fragile and old or both, you desperately keep both. If you have three, you should keep three. See a trend? You don't give up a QB you think could be a starter, ever.

I am relieved by the outrage this thread has spawned. This isn't the NBA and it's not baseball. It's NFL football and QB's are king.

I'm sure there would be differing opinions. No way would it be clear cut after what he's done so far.
all these people poo-pooing the idea aren't offering solid rebuttals.......just a bunch of ppffffffttting

are they seriously saying Dak will be hands down better for his career after 2 halves?.....now if you are saying they both will be stars but I will keep my guy then I get it 100%

at first Im like is this a serious question? then I think "well, hold on....if Denver were to dangle Von Miller?" and then I quickly come back down to earth weighing Dak's salary and Von's lol......not to mention, we MIGHT have found our future QB, and in the 4th Round to boot....so yea, no thanks......

I've seen one too many "Dak is better than Romo" threads lately, and I don't want to continue that stupid argument. As of today and probably for the next 3 years, Romo is the best player on the team, hopefully Dak is so great that he will be better and then we'd have a great problem in our hands, but in the mean time let's be realistic and be happy with Romo as our field general.

So here's a new debate, I thought of this today:

The Rams, Eagles and Broncos call you today, and they offer you Goff, Wentz and Lynch respectively straight up for Dak. Would you do it? Why, or why not?
No. He's too smart, seems humble, and has already outplayed them all and can only get better. Plus, he gives us a myriad of options for a nickname. Ha

I get that Dak is looking really good after 1-2 miles of a 200+ mile marathon.
Good for us and him!

I just don't see how anyone can already say these other guys won't be good or great....and better than Dak 3 years from now.
After all, it's 3-4 years from now that the GMs do their projections at this position. That is a big part of how they are drafted.

At this amazingly small amount of time, even if you used this incredibly premature and juvilile basis to compare players, you have to place them each other's situation. How would Wentz or Goffbe on our team. How would Dak be on their teams? And then, you're comparing a patch of grass over a square mile of open field.
Wentz has barely played and got few reps with the ones all preseason.
Goff has been running with twos, but even after that shaky 1st part of a practice game, he returned in the 2nd game vastly better with 113 rating. Do we project that curve up?

It's all silly

I would trade him for Wentz in a nanosecond.

Maybe Lynch, Von Miller and Denvers 1st and 2nd to open the conversation. Throw in D Ware and we can seal the deal.

It sounds absurd, and it is, but thats the only deal I would listen too. Otherwise we ride the Dak Express.

Let's go ahead and throw away 365 days worth of scouting and money spent and lets go w two PS games instead

Really sound logic

Probably the same logic most geniuses in this world use

So far from reality because the risk. The GM would never have a job again if trading a top pick for a late 4th guy after 2 preseason games. He'd never work at McDonalds either after that.

It is a hypothetical thread intended to spark discussion amongst friends to enjoy our draft pick. You guys ought to chill out and relax, geez.
