OMG this the worst thread on Cowboyszone. This is the NFL. Trades rarely work and you don't trade a guy who has been this productive.
Not at all saying I'd ditch Dak.
But...Productive? I'm not sure that word really applies until we get to games that count.

Anyway, you need to catch up on your thread if you think this is worst on.
I think the starting Dak one wins by a mile.

Again, not saying I agree, but my guess is that if it was an even swap, most GMs would certainly consider trading for one of Wentz, Goff, or Lynch. Maybe Jerry too.
Of course, they may regret it later.

If you are a GM and haven't entertained these types of wild proposals then you aren't doing your job

Luck = Opportunity + Preparation
I mean the part about drawing conclusions on all these QBs long term success on this tiny practice game sample size.
That seems silly

I've seen one too many "Dak is better than Romo" threads lately, and I don't want to continue that stupid argument. As of today and probably for the next 3 years, Romo is the best player on the team, hopefully Dak is so great that he will be better and then we'd have a great problem in our hands, but in the mean time let's be realistic and be happy with Romo as our field general.

So here's a new debate, I thought of this today:

The Rams, Eagles and Broncos call you today, and they offer you Goff, Wentz and Lynch respectively straight up for Dak. Would you do it? Why, or why not?

Man the level of stupidity on this board in the last 2 weeks is incredible

Of any of these teams made that trade proposal it would mean that they recognize your player is better than their player. Add in the difference that you're going to pay for a player that's inferior to yours and you've got a lose, lose situation for Dallas. Memo to Philly, L.A. and Denver: Thank you. You saved us from ourselves once. We won't be returning any favors. Good luck with your mortgaged futures (sans Denver). We like our guy. It sucks for you that you do too.

Too many people get caught up in draft status and ignore actual game performance, Using this logic, we should just go ahead and dump Prescott and begin the Jamarcus Russell reclamation project. Prescott is outperforming all of his draft peers, right now.

Anybody getting paid to make these decisions would make the trade

Um, no. Only an idiot would make the trade (on both sides). The Eagles and Rams gave up a king's ransom to draft these kids. It would be a PR nightmare if either of these guys were traded before they even started their first season. Jerry would be even dumber. Right now, he looks like the smartest guy in the room. Neither Goff nor Wentz have shown to be better than Dak on any level. Ditto for Lynch. Dak's decision making, athleticism, and poise have shown to be worlds above any of those players, right now. Dak has actually answered some questions, so far. With the exception of Lynch, the rest have only created more questions.

Now, on to the immediate issue: Back up QB. Who would you rather have behind Romo, should he go down this season? Lynch, Goff, Wentz, or Prescott? After what we've seen THIS season, if you pick anyone other than Prescott, you're a certifiable idiot. Now, some can chime in and say "Well, Dak hasn't really faced a defense that has game planned for him". That's true and neither have any of these other QBs and they don't look like they belong on the same football field as Dak Prescott.

Trade Dak for one of these clowns? Not a chance. Dak actually looks like an NFL QB.

If you bought a Powerball ticket and won, would you trade it in for a chance to win next week's drawing?

It's way to early to write the book on any of these guys but I like what I'm seeing right now and I'm stickin' with it.

"Productive" was just the wrong word. This guy is showing some real strengths that we can work with.

Any baseball fans here? Lets say you just called up a power hitting 3rd baseman that has a history of slugging homers and hitting for a high average. But he starts off slow. His first month, he is only hitting .210 with 1 HR. A team calls you up with a trade proposal for their rookie 3rd baseman. Straight up. He's a light hitting, defensive guy. But his first month, he's hitting .295 with 6 HRs. Do you make the trade?

Slap yourself if you said yes.

It is a hypothetical thread intended to spark discussion amongst friends to enjoy our draft pick. You guys ought to chill out and relax, geez.
Don't take it personal.....a lot of sticks in the mud(and other places) around here...... every word get parsed so they can win Internet points and not have to actually have an original thought

Since we are talking nonsense, you have 10 seconds trade Lena Dunham for Scarlett Johannson?

Time is up!

More like Scarjo for Jessica Alba or Denzel for Ryan Gosling.....whatever you like is the right answer

Reading all the posts in this thread, I asked myself one question:

Well, actually two, first being, "is this a serious discussion or did we all get hit by a stupid bomb?"

The other was, would the Rams even think of trading Goff for Dak? No, they would not.

So, any GM that is thinking of these wild scenarios is not only not doing his job, but is also wasting time he should be using to improve the team.

That is the tragic part of the Prescott phenomena.

It cannot be enjoyed for what it is.

It just has to be meaning something else.

OMG he's the future

OMG you think Romo is getting worried?

OMG I wonder what we could get for him right now!

It really takes the fun out of watching a player do his job and show promise.

I mean, if someone offered a decent 1st rounder for him, maybe. Other than that, I'd rather him sit and learn behind Romo for a couple years, and hopefully be good when it's his time.

This man right here? He's smart. Be like him.
