Trade for DT: Vita Vea after TB loses

If Dallas wants to make drastic improvements to the defense, they need to acquire a DT like Vita Vea.

Tampa Bay would have to actually want to trade him.

Jerry isn't "gonna make 'em an offer they can't refuse" a la the Godfather.

What you're saying is to spend multiple draft picks for one position when there are many positions that need to be addressed but then with limited draft picks. This why fans aren't GM's.

..he's coming back to Tampa. After getting some Super bowl LV exp, they know they have something there.

There are plenty of good looking NT's in this years draft class. Why post a thread about a player whose team isn't thinking twice about trading?! o_O

what are we giving up for that? cuz i dont see why TB would trade such a up and coming player unless we're giving up quite a bit
That's the problem with a lot of posts that call for trades - they don't consider the cost of such a trade, or even if the other team would be interested in a trade. Of course, there is always a price in which they would be interested, but that price may be a huge overpayment.

@Dak_Attack_09 Vea has 43 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 34 games over 3 years.

Averages barely over 1 tackle per game and 1 sack roughly every 4 games. Trystin Hill averages roughly the same number of tackles per game but has 0 sacks. Gallimore averages 1 tackle per game.

What is so great about this Vea?

He was injured this year, before the injury sidelining him he was on pace to having an all-pro year. DT statistics rarely ever tell the story, not everyone plays like Donald.

Easy to say lets trade for all the best players but much harder to pull off especially in the way they are managing this team.

It's not going to happen, Bucs fans love him, Arians loves him, and ownership are excited about him possibly coming back against the Packers. You'd have to give up the farm for him, he's in the tier below Donald and you don't give that up for cheap. I do wish we had a Vea though, someone that can eat up multiple blocks and block the view for the QB. We haven't had this in a very very very long time.

I agree. but you know there will be people mad we didn't trade for him. Vea types are hard t come by unless your drafting high in the 1st round almost yearly. I'm not hearing about any DT's in this mold with this draft.

He has been injured a lot in his 3 years. I think he was injured his rookie year too. Vea misses on average 5 games per year. Same with LVE - injured a lot.

LVE has never been on Vea's level. He missed 3 games his rookie season, played a full season last year, and broke his ankle this year (more unfortunate than what I'd say is indicative of being injury prone) while LVE has serious questions about his neck at a the LB position.

But the simple fact is, you used stats to suggest Hill is somehow playing at a level compared to Vea. He's not.

Ya the Cowboys could add their names to that long list of teams that have traded their starting QB for a DT. Oh wait, no team has ever been that dumb.

There’s fans here who are dumb enough to do it. Trust me there’s a few Dak haters that wouldn’t hesitate trading Dak for a DT. They’re ready to move on from him without any compensation.
