As the draft is quickly approaching, I wanted to know what are your thoughts on us trading up for Gurley? Most feel like he is the best back to come out the draft since AP. I am in the majority of those thinking we should stick with our formula of success and rely on our ground game and balanced offense to physically wear down opposing defenses. With that said, I think Gurley will beast behind our oline (barring no setbacks with the knee injury).

I know most want to trade for AP (some are willing to part with our first rounder). Lets say Vikings want too much for AP, would you guys trade our 2nd to the Lions for a chance to snatch Gurley?

This would dash all the good will the FO has built up in recent years.

He might be one of the few players they would consider trading up IF he was falling.

However I think they stay where they are or trade down. I think if they can trade down, that is what they would like to do.

Only a few spots. If it required only giving up a 4th or 5th rounder.

Everyone as far as experts seem to be in agreement that he is one of the elite talents in the draft, and the position matches up with a roster need.

I'd do it. Watching how bad that Georgia line and/or offense was makes me really admire what he and Chubb did. I'd also move up some for Gordon because I think he's a lot better than he gets credit for, but I'd trade up fewer spots for him. That Wisconsin line was good.

If he's such an elite talent, he should be long gone by 27. If he fell that far it would be wise to seek others looking to trade into our position for him- cash in big on a tradedown- because of the quality depth at the position in this draft.

The trade wouldn't be a for a 2 to get to 23, it'd need to be more like 1, and 3 from us getting back 1 and 4 from detroit. That's a trade I at least think about before I decline. 1 and 2 to move up 4 spots at that point in the round would be one of the worst deals we've made. Better then Roy Williams WR trade but that's not saying much.

Remember they said the same thing about No and he didn't tear his ACL before the draft, nobody is a sure thing in this draft.

Nah I'd wait, go defense w pick 1 and trade up in Rd 2 for Tevin Coleman

Mike Davis is Frank Gore without the history of injuries and perhaps a little faster. I really like Davis guys.

You are talking about the Jonses. I wouldn't doubt it. If it was between us and the Ravens and Carolina knows they can get their guy at 27+ a 4th or 5th. SIGN ME UP! It might be more expensive for us to jump over Arizona to Detroit. That's when it gets tricky. I'd let the draft just come to us if that were the case. Tevin Coleman would be a very nice consolation prize.

Some interesting responses thus far. I know a lot are saying grab a lower rated back in the later rounds, however, it is still possible they wont fall to our pick that round. So we would find ourself in a situation where:

1. We trade back in round 1 and take Coleman or Ajayi with our first second round selection
Or
2. Reach for the back we covet in the later rounds because of fear they wont last until our pick

I'd trade up if I thought he was the next AD.

We traded up for Bryant. I'm just saying...It's crapshoot either way.

This would dash all the good will the FO has built up in recent years.

How is that?

Just a year ago we used a 2 & 3 on a ok talent at defensive end...

We also used a 1 & 2 on Claiborne.

If Gurley is a superstar he'll be worth the compensation.

Gurley is good but you have to consider the ACL tear and that was not his only injury in college.
